#5 Ask Alexa
If youâre an Amazon user, chances are youâve already picked up one of the companyâs home automation products. Alexa, the Amazon virtual assistant, can help with many day-to-day tasks, but the device becomes extra useful on Prime Day, and can actually save you money. When you say “Alexa, what are my Prime Day deals?”, your virtual assistant will present you with promotions it predicts you might be interested in. If any of them sound too good to pass up, you can even complete the transaction via voice command! In the lead-up to Prime Day, Amazon has offered a huge discount on Echo Dots. If you sign up for Prime using Alexa, you can even kick off Prime Day with a small credit in your account!
#4 Arm Yourself With the App
While Alexa is a great ally on your quest for deals, Prime Day domination requires a diverse arsenal of tools. No matter how dedicated you are to Prime Day, you canât realistically sit and browse Amazon.com for 48 hours straight. Consider the Amazon app your mobile command center, and most trusted general. The app allows you to not only browse upcoming deals but also request a notification the moment that a certain promotion goes live. Itâs as simple as clicking âWatch this dealâ. The best promotions tend to go fast (depending on available stock). When youâve got the app, a carefully curated watchlist and a watchful eye on your notifications, you significantly reduce the risk of missing out.
#3 Make a List of Priority Items/Categories
Smart shopping starts at home. When youâre scrolling through page after page of absurd deals, you may find yourself tempted to buy things you really donât need. So before you start checking out everything that Prime Day has to offer, take stock of your home. Whatâs due for an update? Are there any pricey purchases youâve been meaning to make? Put them on the list. You can even give them a priority ranking, or a color-coded system, to distinguish between âmust-have itemsâ and purchases that are dependent on a truly great deal. The sheer number of promotions can feel overwhelming, but with your trusty list, you can navigate Prime Day like a seasoned pro.Â
#2 Watch for Waitlists
When it comes to Lightning Deals, speed is of the essence; true to their label, they tend to sell out fast. Turning on 1-Click Ordering is a great way to give yourself an edge. You can secure a deal and move on to another one in record time. Try as hard as you might, however, thereâs always a chance that you miss out on a deal. The good news is that thereâs still a chance of scoring a promotion, even when itâs seemingly out of stock. Waitlist to the rescue! Not everyone who puts that item in their cart will complete the checkout. And after 15 minutes, that stock is instead given to someone on the waitlist. Secure your place, youâve got nothing to lose!
#1 Sign Up for a Prime Membership
There are, of course, savings to be enjoyed on Prime Day even if youâre not an Amazon Prime member. You wonât benefit from the free one or two-day delivery that members enjoy on many orders, but the general public will still notice more deals than usual on the marketplace. But Prime Day is a special opportunity particularly intended for Prime subscribers… both new and existing. So, given that Amazon offers free one-month trials to new customers, why not enjoy everything Prime Day has to offer? After experiencing the power of Prime, we suspect youâll see the value. Plus, your subscription includes Prime Video, free games, loot from Prime Gaming and much, much more.Â
