Born July 12th, 1967 in Haiti, Bruny Surin grew up in Canada. Along with the Canadian relay team, he won a gold medal at the Atlanta 1996 Summer Olympic Games. He was later inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame along with the team in 2008.
