Finally, all the different story lines of Season 8 come to a head. Welcome to Watch The Walking Dead, the weekly show where we look at the most fun and interesting moments, references and easter-eggs in the newest episode of AMC's The Walking Dead. Today, we're looking at the biggest moments from Season 8 Episode 8, "How It's Gotta Be“”. As this was the mid-season finale, a lot of big things happened, so a spoiler alert is now in effect.

#3: The Fall of Alexandria and The Kingdom
As soon as it was revealed that the saviors had escaped their besieged stronghold, we all knew there would be hell to pay. We weren't however, expecting both Alexandria and the Kingdom to go down in the same night. Splitting the duties of bringing the settlements back in line, Gavin is dispatched to the Kingdom while Simon intercepts Maggie and her convoy. While The Kingdom is left in tact and The Hilltop isn't even touched, Negan himself goes to Alexandria and burns the entire town to the ground.

#2: Dwight's Cover is Blown
Very few characters throughout The Walking Dead have worked as hard towards redemption as Dwight. Even though he killed Denise, accidentally but that doesn't make it ok, we are kind of rooting for him, as he is the only reason the Alliance of Settlements was able to get this far in their war against the Saviors. All that is over however, as during an ambush lead by Tara and Rosita, Dwight is forced to blow his cover and kill several of his own people. Laura sees the entire thing and manages to escape with that knowledge.

Before we get to our top moment, here are some of the best lines from this week’s episode:

"I thought we were having a moment you little asshole!"

"He is currently riding a porcelain bus with laxative and melted sugar-free gummy induced diarrhea"

"I want you to win. I want Negan to die. We can settle up after"

#1: Carl's Bite
By far the biggest moment of this season came at the very end of the mid-season finale, when Carl reveals that he has been sporting a walker bite on his lower abdomen. When Negan attacks Alexandria, Carl stays behind to by his people time to escape and even offers up his own life to Negan as payment. Not to diminish Carl's heroics, he knew full well that he was already a dead man walking, as he was bitten by a walker a few episodes ago, while leading Siddiq to Alexandria. This may not be the last we see of Carl, but we can't wait to see how this longtime character chooses to spend his final moments.
