#10: Molly Ringwald

We open things up with a 1980s teen idol turned 1990s major star! Molly Ringwald found her film industry feet after starring in a trio of successful movies directed by John Hughes, "Sixteen Candles", "The Breakfast Club" and "Pretty in Pink". In truth though, Ringwald was pretty in any color, and she soon became a sex symbol for her generation! A prominent member of the nicely notorious 'Brat Pack', she got attention wherever she went, and deservedly so!

#9: Geri Halliwell

She was part of one of the biggest pop groups in history, and she was defined by the 'ginger' color of her hair... Geri Halliwell qualifies for this countdown with style and aplomb! Universally known as 'Ginger Spice' throughout the nineties, the singer's most iconic moment undoubtedly came at the '97 Brit Awards... Halliwell performed with the rest of the Spice Girls wearing an ultra-mini dress emblazoned with the Union Jack, leaving little to the imagination and a lot to be desired!

#8: Angelica Bridges

An actor turned ultra-attractive model, Angelica Bridges (like so many memorable hotties) first gained fame after appearing in TV's "Baywatch". In the early 2000s however, Bridges stepped out of that iconic red swimsuit, quite literally! With a major appearance in “Playboy,” including a front cover shoot, this redhead had everyone wide open-eyed! Only the hottest make the Hugh Hefner cut, and Bridges quite clearly falls within that category!

#7: Geena Davis

An actress who made a name for herself during the late 1980s, Geena Davis is probably most well known for her roles in "The Accidental Tourist" for which she won a 'Best Supporting Actress' Oscar, and "Thelma and Louise" for which she picked up a 'Best Actress' nomination. Her loose crimson curls were a look that many tried to recreate, but her general good looks are all but impossible to match! There can't be too many prettier people to be running from the law with...

#6: Susan Sarandon

...Although our next actress is perhaps an even foxier fugitive! Co-starring with Davis in "Thelma and Louise", Susan Sarandon played the part of Louise, the best friend behind the trigger to begin with! A 'hot shot' in more ways than one, Sarandon also carried off her flowing red hair with exceptional elegance! This actress is as lovely as her filmography is long... And seeing as she has starred in over sixty pictures, she must be very, very fine!

#5: Angie Everhart

Another picture of “Playboy” perfection, Angie Everhart has also graced the pages of “Sports Illustrated” on many an occasion, before building an alternative career as an actor. However, this hottie's hair is a more important part of her person than most on today's countdown, as it alone has won her awards! In 2006 and 2010 she actually won the ‘Super-Hair World Cup,’ building on previous accolades for 'best redhead' specifically... Everhart's a celebration of all things scarlet!

#4: Rene Russo

Legend has it that our next redhead found fame quite unexpectedly... Allegedly, Rene Russo was spotted at an early '70s Rolling Stones gig, quickly signed up with Ford Modelling Agency, and appeared on all sorts of fashionable front covers within the year! Featuring for the likes of Vogue and Cosmopolitan during her early career, Russo would go on to become an established actor. The most beautiful part of many a blockbuster movie, she's well loved and well lovely!

#3: Julia Roberts

Like Rene Russo, Julia Roberts' redhead credentials are sometimes more apparent than others... However, when our bronze medal beauty comes out crimson, she always looks awesome! An Oscar winner for "Erin Brockovich" and the receiver of three further Academy Award nominations, there's a strawberry blonde something about this actress that has had us misty-eyed for many a movie! An undisputed icon of modern cinema, we're left wishing just one thing... If only this 'Pretty Woman' could walk down our street!

#2: Nicole Kidman

Top 10 Nicole Kidman Performances

Turning our silver medal a distinct shade of scarlet is Australian actress and media darling, Nicole Kidman! A superstar celebrity of modern times, she was just what the doctor ordered as Chase Meridian in "Batman Forever", she had to be seen to be believed in "Eyes Wide Shut", and she really put the red wonder into "Moulin Rouge"! A serial show stealer, Kidman has well and truly earned her icon status; when she walks the red carpet we can but watch and admire! Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions. - Gillian Anderson - Anne Margret - Reba McEntire

#1: Rita Hayworth

TOP 10 PERFORMANCES d'acteurs qui n'ont pas eu les LOUANGES MÉRITÉES !

Our redheaded winner is, without doubt, one of the twentieth century's greatest ever stars! Rita Hayworth glittered during the Golden Age of Hollywood, taking over the 1940s especially with her trademark deep voice and sizzling red hair! A premiere pin-up during World War II, Hayworth is probably best known for femme fatale roles, and particularly for her lead part in "Gilda"... Famously asked during that movie 'are you decent?', we can confirm she's more than decent - she's downright incredible, and our runaway winner! Do you agree with our list? Which icon did we overlook?
