#10: “All I Have” feat. LL Cool J This is Me…Then (2002)

With a mid-tempo swing suitable for late night love sessions, this Jennifer Lopez jam kept the momentum of her third album moving in the right direction. Lyrically, “All I Have” confronted the perils of moving on after a breakup, but the beat was downright fresh to death and propelled J-Lo to the top of the Billboard charts. Whether it was the pride or the passion, the track exuded musical flavor that made fans lick their lips more than LL Cool J does.

The music video was pieced together by the future “Hunger Games: Catching Fire” director Francis Lawrence, and featured J-Lo as not one, not two – but eight different characters looking to get right by getting some lovin’. For the original version of this R&B hit, J-Lo released a saucy Spanish-themed music video. However things got real once the gruff-voiced rapper Ja Rule and pal Caddillac Tah came on board for a remix. With the five opening poetic words of “It must be the ass,” listeners quickly understood that it WAS indeed the ass once the music video hit the airwaves. Although the “Ain’t It Funny” remix was far from a club banger, the hip hop swag helped J-Lo reach more listeners as she geared herself in a new direction.

Originally co-written by Gloria Estefan for her own album, “Let’s Get Loud” was given to Ms. Lopez after she dazzled critics in the1996 musical biopic “Selena.” The live music video was filmed at the 1999 Women’s FIFA World Cup, and the pounding track can now be found on tropical resort playlists everywhere. Once the first beat hits, all one can do is say “aww yeah” and let the music take over. That’s how J.Lo gets down.

The music video featured future husband Cris Judd along with some booty shakin’ that left younger MTV viewers drooling with astonishment.

The lead single from J-Lo’s third album addressed her humble roots, while highlighting her blossoming romance with then-boyfriend Ben Affleck.
