Welcome to MojoPlays and today we’re summoning our Ultrahand to bring you 10 insane creations players have made in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The crafting and fusing abilities in Tears of the Kingdom have inspired the community to come out in force with creations Nintendo couldn’t have possibly dreamed of. With new creations being fused everyday, we’re sure to have overlooked some of your favorites so give them a shoutout in the comments below.

Hylian Space Program

Although the kingdom of Hyrule is very much set in the realm of fantasy, the Upheaval has unleashed no shortage of futuristic gadgets onto the land, and with Link’s new Ultrahand ability, he’s able to craft machines and gadgets eons before their time. Some players have been putting their rocket science degrees to good use and crafting not only rockets, but multi-stage rockets, in essence creating Hyrule’s first space program. Building separate sections designed to break off as they reach orbit, players are able to send Link skyward even farther than the Skyview towers themselves. Fuse a rocket to your shield for an additional boost and Link will be the first Hyrulian in outer space.

Tears of the Pacific Rim

Link sure battles his share of Kaiju-sized foes, so why not let them pick on someone their own size? YouTuber 4kliksAlex has taken inspiration from Guillermo Del Toro’s Pacific Rim films and built his own kaiju-fighting robot. With Link safely shielded in the cockpit and an arsenal of laser weapons arming him to the teeth, virtually anything that crosses paths with this Yeager is bound to have a bad day. The massive treads make his robot surprisingly mobile and while he won’t be punching any Lynels or Hinoxs in the face like in the movies, the sheer firepower strapped to this mech more than makes up for its lack of melee attacks.

Orbital Strike Laser

While many creations players have built are designed for ground assault, they are still vulnerable to taking damage, so why give your foes the chance to see it coming? Some ingenious players have crafted their own drones or satellites to even the odds against some of Link’s larger opponents. With the relentless assault from the Orbital Strike Lasers, nothing can stop the might of Link’s fury besides his battery life and with those being so plentiful, there’s really nothing that can stop Link from enacting what many Bokoblins might consider war crimes.

The Legend of Zelda: Macross Saga

We already touched on players creating functioning robots, but some have managed to take things a step further by recreating mechs from popular anime such as the Robotech and Gundam series, respectively. The Macross mecha is able to fully take flight around the Kingdom of Hyrule all while raining down an unrelenting assault from above. Things are taken a step further as they’ve also created a secondary version for ground assault similar to how the Robotech transform within the series. The Gundam is just a merciless death machine that will leave everyone in its path crying tears of mercy.

Yama-hiya

Players got their first taste of Link’s amazing Master Cycle in Breath of the Wild with The Champions’ Ballad DLC, but unfortunately, Link seems to have forgotten where he parked in the time between Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, so for those wanting to feel the wind in their hair once again, they’re left to create their own. And not unlike players building fully working automobiles within the game, some players have recreated their favorite motorcycles from Harley Davidson and Yamaha. While not as quick as Link’s last ride, the Ultrahand creations do have the added bonus of strength and power and are able to make roadkill out of almost anything that doesn’t look both ways before crossing Link’s path.

Top Gun: Link

Sometimes, you just feel the need. The need for speed. Hyrule might not have a program for the best of the best, but Link’s natural proficiency with all manner of machines makes him an ace pilot ready to take to the skies and strike at the heart of Ganondorf’s forces before they even know what hit them. With his many eons of combat experience, Link is able to pilot any kind of fighter jet with ease and with enough time in the skies and Ganondorf’s defeat, maybe Link will pass along his skills and teach the next generation of pilots at Hyrule’s Top Gun Academy.

Batmobile Tumbler

The legendary hero of Hyrule, Link has a surprising amount in common with the Dark Knight of Gotham. Both are viewed as mythical figures which may or may not exist and both have a myriad of gadgets they use to combat the forces of evil. Seemingly also noticing this connection, players have recreated the Batmobile Tumbler from Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy and the results are as devastating as they are cool. Link is completely shielded from attacking forces and the vehicle’s automatic turrets lay waste to most anything crazy enough to attack the Batmobile. And just like Batman, Link’s version has plenty of hidden traps as well. Unfortunately, no, it doesn’t come in black.

Hylian Warfare

With the stakes this high, Link can’t take any chances that he won’t be able to rescue Princess Zelda and save the Kingdom of Hyrule… Again… So in order to ensure his victory, it’s time to call in the big guns. With all the materials available to him, few others can compete with the sheer might of the Zonai Tank when you absolutely, positively need to make sure everything is dead within the immediate area. With Link sealed inside as well as gun turrets and a cannon locked in on anything that even looks at him funny, Link is a one-man wrecking crew and he’s going to save the Kingdom singlehandedly, even if he has to blow it all to hell.

A Kingdom Far, Far Away

Don’t think the parallels between the Star Wars universe and The Legend of Zelda have gone unnoticed by fans. Many have taken their love of a galaxy far, far away and brought it to Hyrule, replicating some of the most iconic and deadly machines in the Star Wars universe. With everything from pod racers and AT-STs to even TIE Fighters and Defenders, the Force is strong with Link as the might of the Resistance and the Empire are at his fingertips in his battle against Ganondorf and his many forces.

Metal Gear Link

Widely considered to be an “Ultimate Weapon” as well as taking into account the sheer danger that Ganondorf once again poses to the Kingdom, it would make sense for Link to take inspiration from other properties in building his arsenal and take on the encroaching evil. While it might not be the same stealth weapon as in the Metal Gear series that inspired it, players have nonetheless recreated the nuclear tank with surprising accuracy and many have even managed to make it mobile, bringing the true power of the Metal Gear right to the Bokoblins’ doorstep.
