7 Things You Should Know About BattleField: Bad Company 2
It’s EA’s explosive response to Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare franchise. Welcome to Watchmojo.com and today we’ll be taking a look at the 7 things you should know about BattleField: Bad Company 2.
Number 1: The Plot
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 opens with the army’s worst behaved team of soldiers stuck on a routine patrol assignment in Alaska. However, the troublemakers quickly manage to stumble upon a secret Soviet research project aimed at creating a new experimental weapon. As a result, the squad gets caught-up in a worldwide chase to stop the weapon and save their home soil.
Number 2: The Members of B-Company
In Bad Company 2, you will again take on the role of rookie newcomer Private Preston Marlowe. As a member of B-Company, the army’s most expendable unit, you will once again follow the orders of Sergeant Redford. You will also continue to fight alongside Private George Haggard, a carefree redneck who indiscriminately enjoys blowing stuff up, and the brains of the group Private Sweetwater.
Number 3: The Single Player Campaign
As a result of gamer feedback on the previous entry in the franchise, Bad Company 2 will take you through a greatly refined single player campaign experience. The story will have your unit travel from Alaska, to Bolivia and South America in a 10 Hour long roller coaster ride full of intense gunplay, vehicle driving and scenes of overwhelming environmental destruction.
Number 4: Destructible Environments
Gamers will be pleased to hear that Bad Company 2 takes full advantage of EA’s new Destruction 2.0 system, which allows for a greater degree of environmental damage. This means that buildings can now be fully collapsed, rather then only having their walls blown off. This innovative game play element promises to radically increase the intensity of combat. This will force players to adapt to a game world that changes with every explosion.
Number 5: Vehicles
The Battlefield series has made a reputation for itself due to the sheer volume of vehicles you have previously been able to control. However, Bad Company 2 introduces several new exciting vehicles to both the single-player campaign and multiplayer. These include the use of ATV’s and UH-60 Transport Helicopters. Plus, all of the game’s vehicles have been fine-tuned to provide an even more realistic driving experience.
Number 6: Character Classes and Field Kit
In Battlefield Bad Company 2’s multiplayer modes, there are 4 distinct character classes to choose from. These options allow you to join the battle as either a standard soldier, an engineer, a recon sniper or field medic.
In addition to your character class, you will be able to build your own field kit. Your field kit is your personalized options screen that details your additional specializations, in addition to your gadget and weapon combinations. In total there are over 15 thousand different possible kit variations.
Number 7: Squad-Based Multiplayer
In Bad Company 2, players will now be able to compete in 4-player teams in two exciting squad-only game modes called “Rush” and “Squad Rush”.
In the first mode, “Rush”, your team will have to either destroy or defend a series of crates within a re-determined time period. However, in “Squad Rush”, opposing teams of 4-players will each have to battle it out to destroy the other team’s crates, while defending their own.
Winning these matches will unlock exclusive team awards and achievements. While excellence on the online battlefield will earn you pins, insignias, stars and increase your rank.
