7 Things You Should Know About Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions

Get ready to play as four radically different versions of the web-slinging superhero. Welcome to WatchMojo.com and today we’ll be taking a look at the 7 Things You Should Know About Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.

Number 1: The Plot

The game opens with a battle between Spiderman and arch villain Mysterio. During the fight an ancient artifact known as “The Tablet of Order and Chaos” shatters and opens a door to several Spiderman alternate-realities.

Now, the four different versions of Spider-Man must find the tablet’s shards, and restore order to the multi-verse.

Number 2: The Villains

Not only will the game feature four separate continuities of Marvel’s Spider-Man, but the various versions of their villains as well. In fact, the baddies are each in possession of separate fragments of the tablet, which has granted the sixteen-featured enemies, such as Vulture and Hammerhead, new and frightening powers.

Working together the villains have only goal, to destroy every possible version of Spider-man in existence.

Number 3: The Amazing Spider-Man Universe

As the first of the four realities, the most popular and well-known iteration of the character is featured, and is defined by the use of bright colors and tones. It is also rendered using cel shading for a comic-book aesthetic, and features the heavy use of web-based combat.

Number 4: The Noir Universe

In contrast, Noir Spider-Man has been given a very dark and gritty depiction, as this version of our hero is based in the 1930s.

Defined by his use of stealth-based tactics, he defeats his enemies by using covert strategies and timing, rather then raw force.

When properly hidden from view, the screen will turn black and white, and Noir Spidey will swoop in for a silent takedown.

Number 5: The 2099 Universe

As a future version of Spider-Man, the 2099 iteration uses acrobatics and his suit's advanced abilities in combat.

His costume even sports talons, which give him a close combat advantage. In addition, he makes use of ‘accelerated vision’, which allows him to dodge a slew of attacks when taking on the likes of Scorpion and the Hobgoblin.

Number 6: The Ultimate Universe

In the last reality, and perhaps the darkest for our hero, Ultimate Spider-Man uses twisted powers of the symbiote suit to devastate enemies. He can also generate symbiotic spikes and tendrils, which aren’t just deadly, but act as extensions of his own body.

Number 7: The Voice Talent

Proving that Shattered Dimensions is a true love letter to the fans, each version of the hero is brought to life by a different actor who has previously voiced Peter Parker in an animated series.

This star-studded cast includes Neil Patrick Harris from 2003’s ‘The New Animated Series’, Christopher Daniel Barnes from 1994’s ‘The Animated Series’, Dan Gilvezan from 1981’s ‘Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends’, and Josh Keaton from 2008’s ‘The Spectacular Spider-Man.’

And as a special treat, the series creator Stan lee will serve as the story’s narrator.

Conclusion:

Including four separate continuities, art-styles, a slew of legacy voice talent, and numerous elements from the long history of the Marvel comics; Shattered Dimensions may just swing past your expectations of what a Spiderman game should be.
