The climate in Copenhagen brings comfortable summer temperatures. July and August are the hottest months, with highs varying around 70 degrees Fahrenheit. On rare occasions temperatures could surpass 77 degrees. Sporadic heat waves are normal in summer as well. Low summer temperatures range in the mid-fifties. Between early April and late September, many of the city’s cafés and restaurants take advantage of the warmth by allowing patrons to sit outdoors. Sunbathers take to public parks to take advantage of the sunshine once temperatures rise above 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

Winters in Copenhagen are comparable to those in New York City, with a temperature range of 28 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Although winter months between December and March see some snowfall, persistent snow cover is infrequent.

Because of these mild temperatures, and an extensive network of bicycle paths, residents are able to cycle all year.

Despite the mild climate, you’ll still find four distinct seasons in Copenhagen, meaning everyone will enjoy a trip to this breathtaking city.
