No, you’re not in a simulated reality. This is actually happening. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. are in the early stages of developing a reboot of the iconic science-fiction film, The Matrix. The 1999 original wowed audiences with its existentialist themes and its groundbreaking visual effects, popularizing the slow-motion “bullet time”. Warner Bros. have employed writer Zak Penn for the story - who has worked on X-Men and Marvel scripts - and are said to be interested in Michael B. Jordan to star. However, the original brain-trust in the Wachowskis are not attached to the movie in any capacity as of yet. With the original winning four Academy Awards and earning universal acclaim from most, Warner Bros. is hoping the reboot can muster the same type of success.

Orson Welles is getting the Netflix treatment! Perhaps one of the most famous movies never to be released, Welles’ “The Other Side of the Wind” has been rescued by Netflix who will fund the completion of the filmmaker’s final movie after being in limbo since 2014, when producers - who acted in the film - tried but failed to complete it. A satire on the passing of the Classic Hollywood era, Welles’ final film took six years to shoot, from 1970 to 1976, and was supposed to be the director’s triumphant return to Hollywood after being in Europe for a number of years. Netflix has yet to come up with a release date for the classic film, but here’s hoping the streaming giant doesn’t keep us cinephiles waiting too much longer. O Captain, my captain, no more. Audiences have grown to know and love Chris Evans as the Avengers’ leader Steve Rogers, but after Infinity War and it’s untitled sequel, Esquire magazine wrote that the actor may be walking away from the role when his nine-film contract is up. Esquire’s article discussed Evans’ future as the Cap, and mentions how the 35-year-old is interested in taking on more personal projects like his upcoming film, Gifted, where he plays a single man fighting for custody of his child prodigy niece. The article also explains that with MCU films taking five months to shoot - with months of promo and press tours to follow - it made it difficult for Evans’ to pursue those types of projects. Captain America may have given Marvel some of its biggest hits, but they’ll eventually have to do so without Captain Chris.
