We’re gearing up for DC domination! Welcome to WatchMojo and today we’ll be running through Every Single Upcoming DC Movie and TV Show.

We’re taking a look at all the movies and TV shows based on DC Comics currently in development, whether they’re live-action or animated. We won’t be including projects that have only been rumored or whispered about. In order to qualify, it needs to have been confirmed, even if the release date hasn’t. That being said, release dates are subject to change.

“DC Super Hero Girls”
Release Date: March 8, 2019

Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Supergirl, Zatanna, Green Lantern, and Bumblebee are making the leap from YouTube to television via Cartoon Network in this kid-friendly animated series. The show is being developed by Lauren Faust, who is best known for helming “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.” She’s also no stranger to superheroes, having worked on “The Powerpuff Girls” with her husband Craig McCracken, and we can anticipate a similar blend of action and humor from this all-female super team.

“Shazam!”
Release Date: April 5, 2019

Comic readers will see the irony in “Shazam!” coming out only a month after “Captain Marvel.” Although the DCEU has developed a reputation for being dark and gritty, Billy Batson’s origin story should offer a refreshingly light-hearted change of pace. Played by Asher Angel as a 14-year-old, Billy is deemed the Champion of Eternity, which allows him to become an adult superhero played Zachary Levi. Imagine “Big” if Tom Hanks had the Power of Zeus!

DC Universe Animated Original Movies

DC has several animated projects planned, including theatrical releases like “Super Pets” and direct-to-video films like “Wonder Woman: Bloodlines.” Some of DC’s finest voice actors will reprise their career and character-defining roles in “Justice League vs. the Fatal Five.” Speaking of “VS” movies, both versions of the Teen Titans will finally clash in a crossover film. Batman is also in store for a crossover with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as well a long-awaited adaptation of “Hush.”

DC Universe Shows

Initial skepticism aside, “Titans” wound up being a solid launching point for the DC Universe streaming service, which has continued to thrive with “Doom Patrol.” DC Universe has even more lined up for 2019, including a “Swamp Thing” series executive produced by James Wan, a “Stargirl” series starring Brec Bassinger, the second half of “Young Justice: Outsiders,” and a “Harley Quinn” animated series with Kaley Cuoco voicing the Joker’s ex. Also, fingers crossed “Metropolis” fills the void “Smallville” left eight years ago.

“Joker”
Release Date: October 4, 2019

The fate of that spinoff Joker movie starring Jared Leto remains up in the air. For now, though, Joaquin Phoenix is set to put a fresh twist on the Clown Prince of Crime in a standalone crime drama separate from the DCEU. While it’s hard to imagine anything topping Heath Ledger’s Oscar-winning portrayal, this “lower-budget” “character study” could not only reinvent the Joker in fascinating ways but also break new grounds for comic book movies.

“Pennyworth”
Release Date: June 2019

We’ll admit that centering an entire series around Alfred Pennyworth sounds strange on paper. Heck, the idea is even parodied in “Teen Titans Go! To the Movies.” Before he was Batman’s loyal butler, though, Alfred was an SAS soldier and even more. Although Alfred’s younger years have rarely been touched upon outside of the comics, this series from “Gotham” developer Bruno Heller will provide insight into how he became the Wayne family’s closest confidante.

“Watchmen”
Release Date: 2019

An HBO series based on a revolutionary graphic novel that’s being developed by Damon Lindelof of “The Leftovers.” Need we say more? Instead of a direct adaptation like Zack Snyder’s 2009 film, this show will tell an original story, which might give some purists pause. With an all-star cast that includes Regina King, Don Johnson, and Jeremy Irons, though, “Watchmen” has the potential to create something extraordinary while also retaining its source material’s spirit.

“Birds of Prey”
Release Date: February 2020

Margot Robbie reportedly might not appear in “Gotham City Sirens,” but she is set to reprise her role as Harley Quinn in “Birds of Prey.” Cathy Yan’s film will see Harley join forces with Black Canary, Huntress, and Detective Renee Montoya to protect a little girl from Ewan McGregor’s Black Mask. Like Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker movie, “Birds of Prey” is expected to have a smaller budget and perhaps even an R rating.

“Cyborg”
Release Date: April 2020

Victor Stone wasn’t exactly anyone’s favorite character in “Justice League,” but it’s not like actor Ray Fisher was given much time to develop his character. Like Aquaman, Cyborg deserves to be fleshed out in a standalone movie, which is currently slated for a 2020 release. Of course, a writer and director have yet to be locked in, meaning we may need to wait a while longer before Cyborg is fully done justice.

“Wonder Woman 1984”
Release Date: June 5, 2020

After three divisive films, “Wonder Woman” gave audiences hope for the DCEU, guaranteeing star Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins would return for a sequel. As the title suggests, this follow-up sets itself in 1984 as Diana Prince faces Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah against a Cold War backdrop. Although shooting wrapped in late in 2018, the film isn’t hitting theaters until summer 2020, which can’t come soon enough!

“Green Lantern Corps”
Release Date: July 2020

With the success of “Deadpool,” Ryan Reynolds has more than rebounded from 2011’s “Green Lantern.” Alas, we’re still waiting for DC to make a “Green Lantern” movie worthy of the hero’s name. “Green Lantern Corps” has been pitched as “‘Lethal Weapon’ in space” with Hal Jordan and John Stewart taking center stage.

“Flashpoint”
Release Date: 2021

The Flash is known for his super speed, but his standalone movie has ironically been stalled multiple times, even though Ezra Miller has appeared as the character in three films already. After changing several hands, the project went to directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, who previously co-wrote “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” With the “Flashpoint” story arc expected to be the focus, we may be in store for the superhero equivalent of “Back to the Future.”

“The Batman”
Release Date: June 2021

There was a time when it looked like Ben Affleck would not only star in “The Batman,” but also write, direct, and produce it. After a series of varying reports, however, Affleck confirmed that he was hanging up the cape and cowl. Nevertheless, “The Batman” is still moving forward with Matt Reeves directing, although we’re still waiting to see who’ll play the Dark Knight and exactly how many villains will fill up his rogues' gallery.

“The Suicide Squad”
Release Date: August 2021

While “Suicide Squad” was a box office hit and even won an Academy Award, many have called the film’s overall quality into question. “The Suicide Squad,” however, is reportedly less like a sequel and more of a relaunch with a primarily new cast. It’s also getting a new director with James Gunn of the first two “Guardians of the Galaxy” films taking over on the heels of his fallout with Marvel.

“Untitled Aquaman Sequel”
Release Date: NA

People had their doubts about 2018’s “Aquaman,” but Jason Momoa’s charisma and James Wan’s visual eye amounted to a billion-dollar hit. This not only paved the way for a sequel, but also a spinoff revolving around the Trench. Momoa, Wan, and co-writer David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick are all expected to get back on board for the sequel, which should see a rematch between Arthur Curry and Black Manta if the first film’s mid-credits scene was any indication.

“The New Gods”
Release Date: NA

The New Gods have already been touched upon in the DCEU with Steppenwolf serving as the main villain in “Justice League.” This alien race will be further explored in a sci-fi epic directed by Oscar-nominee Ava DuVernay and written by Kario Salem. While it remains unclear which New Gods, in particular, will appear, reports indicate Granny Goodness and the Female Furies may be the antagonists.

“Black Adam”
Release Date: NA

Being the titular hero’s archenemy in the comics, Black Adam was originally supposed to appear in “Shazam!” The studio has ultimately decided to reserve Black Adam’s debut for his own solo film, though. It was only a matter of time until Dwayne Johnson, who originally signed on to play Black Adam back in the early 2000s, got to bring his unique talents to the world of Superhero movies. The question is if he’ll be depicted as an antihero or a full-blown baddie?
