10 Hardest Bosses In Black Myth Wukong
Welcome to MojoPlays, and today we’re tackling the most punishing boss battles you’ll encounter following in the footsteps of Wukong! Watch out for spoilers and rage quits.
Scorpionlord
The bosses found in the secret areas of each chapter are naturally bound to pack a punch, given the hoops you have to jump through to unlock them in the first place. Among them is the Scorpionlord, who, when he’s not getting wasted, loves nothing more than decimating his victims with his stinger. As expected, he’s in the business of unleashing mass amounts of poison damage. He’ll spin around the arena and lash out with multiple tail strikes that if not avoided, will shred through your health!
Captain Wise-Voice
Before it got nerfed to hell and back, this bizarre fusion of metal orb and withered horse was a nightmare to deal with. Despite being so huge, having to strike at its stork legs ensured that it was all too easy to miss your target. This is made all the worse when it slows down time, diminishes your overall health, and unleashes a non-stop barrage of lightning AOEs that forces you to keep your distance. With so few chances to pile on significant damage, Captain Wise-Ass over here made for an infuriating slugfest.
Yaksha King
Admittedly, the last of the Yaksha clan is something of a glass cannon. Get in enough blows fast enough and you can stagger him surprisingly quickly. But believe us when we say this crimson beast hits HARD. Taking the power of Wukong for himself, the former Red Boy’s anger and sense of vengeance turns him into one of the slickest demons we’ve seen in modern gaming, but also a boss that can decimate your health if you’re caught on the wrong side of his blades, especially when he extends them to crazy proportions.
Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master
Your time with this centipede abomination is either going to be a challenging one, or borderline impossible, and it all depends on whether or not you put into the work to earn the Weaver’s Needle. With it, you can disable this monster’s most lethal trick, though you’re still going to have to contend with his sword work, tendency to bury himself underground, and barrage of lightning damage. Without the needle – the Daoist Master will create its own dimension, wherein your stamina will be drastically reduced, leaving you wide upon to be brutalized into a game over!
Yin Tiger
Should you manage to bring together all the smiths in the game, you’ll find yourself invited into the painted world. There, you’ll be able to employ the services of Yin Tiger, who will act as your resident blacksmith…as well as an optional challenge. This kitty not only knows how to forge weapons, but also handle them like a champion, given that he will teleport around the arena and lash out with swings that deal ludicrous damage. He’s also a huge fan of blocking, so we highly recommend unleashing every ability you have under the sun, lest you want to be sliced into mince meat.
Supreme Inspector
The Celestial Court has plenty of enforcers under their charge, including this heavenly embodiment of the phrase “talk to the hand”. Able to conjure up scorch and thunder damage on the fly, as well as ride wheels of fire like a unicycle. Which sounds hilarious until he darts across the arena to mess you up. He hits hard, fast, and unless you have the Plantain Fan on standby, he’ll conjure a hellscape that constricts your movement and leaves you as an open target. No one walks away from this thing’s cosmic bitch slap!
Yellow Wind Sage
This oversized rat was a gearshift for many in terms of difficulty. Its attacks range from long sweeps with its trident, whipping up tornados, and even summoning a giant statue to crush you. But its most grievous technique was attacking out of bounds. Try as you might, if this rodent chooses to hop back over a certain section of sand, it’s going to be impossible to reach him. All you can do is prepare for when it launches its inevitable flurry of strikes and hope you can land a counterattack amidst the chaos. Having the Wind Tamer on hand to stun him is a huge help, but it doesn’t take away how much of a pain this thing is to deal with!
Yellow Loong
All four of the Loongs are challenging in their own right, but the one that stands atop them all is their yellow-robed sibling. With a miniscule battleground and able to unleash the heaviest of damage at blinding speed, Yellow Loong is an absolute menace to contend with. All it takes is one misstep and he will zap your health to nothing with basic hits alone! Combined with his tendency to bolt around and create massive waves of lightning in rapid sequence, it’s no shocker that this thunderous beast earned the title of hardest boss…for a time at least.
Stone Monkey & The Great Sage’s Broken Shell
It only makes sense that in a game about essentially becoming the next Wukong, that you’d end up fighting some remnant of him. It just so happens that this particular remnant is four phases of trial, error and pain! As the Stone Monkey, the widespread damage that this boss can cause is ridiculous, made all the worse when he summons a clone with its own health bar for twice the punishment. As for the Great Sage’s Broken Shell, this is when the fight transcends from a duel between equals to a one-sided slaughter where you are constantly flexed on. There’s humiliation, and then there’s getting frozen just so you can watch a boss drink your health potion!
Erlang, the Sacred Divinity
During the prologue, we delighted in showcasing our godly powers against Wukong’s longtime nemesis. And then he made a return as the game’s ultimate secret boss, wherein he decided to put Wukong’s apparent successor to the test. Needless to say, he trounced us. Erlang not only seems to have a counter for every move in your arsenal, but comes equipped with his own defense bar, making it all the more difficult to shave off his health. As for his attacks, let’s see…giant axes that can instantly wipe you out, supercharged spear swings that can instantly wipe you out, a barrage of projectiles that can stagger you in place BEFORE instantly wiping you out, the list is endless. When you have players comparing him to Radahn, you know you’re dealing with a different caliber of boss.
