She's All That Cast: Where Are They Now?
Welcome to MsMojo, and today we’re counting down the She’s All That Cast: Where Are They Now?
For this list, we’ll be looking at what the cast of the movie has been up to since its 1999 release.
Be sure to comment and let us know which of these She’s All That cast members is your favorite.
#10: Elden Henson
Henson played Jesse Jackson in “She’s All That”. He was Laney’s best friend who encouraged her to go out with Zack at the start of the movie, and had her best interests at heart throughout. Since 1999, the actor has kept busy, gracing both our television and movie screens. Some of his credits include “The Butterfly Effect”, where he played Lenny, “Spivak”, where he was Kevin, and “Jobs”, where he portrayed Andy Hertzfeld. He also appeared as Pollux in the final two “Hunger Games” movies. Perhaps most notably, Henson has carved out his place in the Marvel universe. He’s appeared in Foggy Nelson in a number of projects, such as “Daredevil” and “The Defenders”. The actor has certainly come a long way!
#9: Dulé Hill
Hill’s character Preston made up one third of the trio of popular guys: him, Dean, and Zack. He left the betting and antics to his two friends, which was a super-smart move. In the years since the film, his career has continued to thrive. His roles include Sam in “Holes”, Charlie Young on “The West Wing”, and Burton Guster in “Psych”. Of course, fans of the legal drama “Suits” will recognize the actor for his portrayal of Alex Williams. He joined the show later in its run, but definitely left his mark! Recently, he played David in the 2021 movie “Locked Down”, and was cast as a lead in the “Wonder Years” reboot! That’s a pretty impressive resume if you ask us!
#8: Gabrielle Union
Union was Katie, Taylor's friend who got tired of her attitude fast in the 1999 movie. It may have been a supporting role, but she brought it to life. Since then, her career has skyrocketed! Her television roles include the title character in “Being Mary Jane,” and her film roles are prominent, too. She notably played Isis in “Bring It On”, and Kristen in “Think Like a Man”, to name a few. Additionally, Union is slated to star in the “Cheaper by the Dozen” remake! Plus, she wrote a children’s book titled “Welcome to the Party”, and co-wrote another with husband Dwayne Wade called “Shady Baby”. Not to mention she’s an advocate for social justice! Is there anything Gabrielle Union can’t do?
#7: Kieran Culkin
Kieran Culkin thoughtfully portrayed Laney’s little brother Simon, who got picked on but always stayed true to himself. He’s racked up a number of acting credits since, with roles in “Igby Goes Down”, and “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World”, for instance. Further, he’s Roman Roy on “Succession”, where he delivers a must-see performance. But if you remember Culkin as Matty from the “Father of the Bride” films, you’ll be glad to know he recently reprised the role. In 2020, the cast reunited for a short to raise money for charity. He’s also set to appear in “No Sudden Move” alongside big names such as Matt Damon and Don Cheadle. Here’s hoping he doesn’t slow down anytime soon!
#6: Anna Paquin
Zack’s younger sister Mackenzie is an important character in “She’s All That”. After all, she’s the one we have to thank for Laney’s iconic transformation! And it’s Anna Paquin we have to thank for bringing the character to life. The actress has continued to impress us with the work she’s done over the years. You can see her in action in such works as “Flack”, “The Affair”, and “Alias Grace”, to name a few. Most notably though, she brought Sookie Waterhouse to life on “True Blood”, and was Rogue in the X-Men films! Plus, who could forget her portrayal of Peggy in Martin Scorsese’s critically acclaimed “The Irishman”? Clearly there’s no stopping Anna Paquin, and we love to see it!
#5: Matthew Lillard
Lillard did a great job making us cringe as Brock Hudson in “She’s All That”. He was Taylor’s obnoxious boyfriend from “The Real World”. They broke up pretty fast, which everybody - except Taylor - saw coming. But unlike that relationship, Matthew Lillard’s career has had long-term success. Though he didn’t voice the character in the 2020 movie, he’s well known as Shaggy from the Scooby-Doo franchise. You can also watch Lillard bring Dean to life on “Good Girls”. And these are far from being his only credits; the actor’s filmography is impressive to say the least. Namely, he’s slated to play Ben Hogan in the upcoming movie “One Heart”. So if you’re a fan like us, keep an eye out!
#4: Jodi Lyn O’Keefe
Taylor Vaughan thought the world revolved around her, but found out pretty quickly it doesn’t. While Taylor ended up winning prom queen, she didn’t get much else by the end of “She’s All That”. This mean girl may have been insufferable, but Jodi Lyn O’Keefe did a fantastic job bringing her to life. Since then, the actress has had guest spots on a number of shows like “Charmed” and “Two and a Half Men”. But she’s also had more substantial parts where her talent has really shone through, like Jo Laughlin on “The Vampire Diaries”, Lionel Davenport on “Hit the Floor”, and Gretchen Morgan on “Prison Break”. Needless to say, this is one skilled and well-rounded star.
#3: Paul Walker
Walker was Dean Sampson, Zack’s friend-turned-enemy in the 1999 film. Dean may have been the worst, but the actor behind the role, Paul Walker, certainly wasn’t. He built a successful career, with numerous credits to his name. Right before “She’s All That”, Walker was Lance in “Varsity Blues”. Then, the actor became best known for playing Brian in the “Fast & Furious” movies. Unfortunately, he passed away following a tragic 2013 car accident. But Paul’s legacy lives on not only through his movies, but through his daughter Meadow. She’s found success in her own right as a model, and set up a non-profit foundation in her father’s name to honor him. There’s no doubt she’s making her dad proud.
#2: Freddie Prinze Jr.
Freddie Prinze Jr. was none other than Zack Siler, the cool kid with a heart of gold. He melted other hearts everywhere with this part, and has continued to do so ever since. His credits include “Freddie”, “Scooby-Doo”, and a number of “Star Wars” projects. And these days, you can catch him in the 2021 reboot of “Punky Brewster”. But Freddie Prinze Jr.’s talents extend beyond acting into cooking! He even released a cookbook titled “Back to the Kitchen: 75 Delicious, Real Recipes (& True Stories) from a Food-Obsessed Actor”. Of course, his relationship with Sarah Michelle Gellar - who briefly appeared in “She’s All That” - is also going strong. They’ve been married for nearly two decades, and have built an adorable family. Be still our hearts!
#1: Rachael Leigh Cook
Cook played none other than Laney Boggs, our artsy protagonist. After her stellar performance in “She’s All That”, the actress went on to star in many films and television shows over the years, such as “Josie and the Pussycats”, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “Perception”. The actress has also entered the Hallmark movie world, with roles in movies like “Cross Country Christmas”, and the “In the Vineyard” series, to name just a few. Not to mention she recently starred in the Netflix film “Love, Guaranteed”. Additionally, there’s exciting news for those of us who are nostalgic for the “She’s All That” era. Cook is slated to appear in the film’s remake, “He’s All That”! She won’t be playing Laney, but we’re still majorly excited.
