Let’s get a little end-of-movie “where are they now” montage going. Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we’ll be counting down our picks for the “The Sandlot” cast - where are they now? For this list, we’ll be looking at the primary cast of “The Sandlot” and seeing what they’ve been up to in recent years.

#10: Denis Leary

Playing Scotty’s stepfather and owner of the legendary Babe Ruth baseball was famous funnyman Denis Leary. Leary is well known for his stand-up comedy career and his Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated series “Rescue Me,” which aired on FX between 2004 and 2011. He reunited with FX for “Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll,” a musical comedy that aired two seasons throughout 2015 and 2016. More recently he’s portrayed Billy in TNT’s “Animal Kingdom” and Sean Moody Sr. in Fox’s Christmas comedy miniseries “The Moodys.” He also published a book in 2017 titled “Why We Don’t Suck: And How All of Us Need to Stop Being Such Partisan Little Bitches.”

#9: Victor DiMattia

DiMattia portrayed Timmy Timmons, the older Timmons brother who could often be seen sporting a white and orange shirt and a Yankees cap. After “The Sandlot”, he continued his role as Sam Cafferty on “A Peaceable Kingdom” until 1995, then took a long break from acting. In 2018 he returned to the screen as Officer Lynam in “Get Married or Die” and is set to play Kid Vlad in a movie called “Death Rider in the House of Vampires.” DiMattia also started his own podcast called “Vic in a Box,” although the latest episode was released in February 2019.

#8: Marley Shelton

Shelton’s role in “The Sandlot” wasn’t big, but it was very important. She played Wendy, the pool lifeguard whom Squints makes a gutsy move on. Shelton has earned herself many notable roles throughout the years, including Dr. Dakota Block in “Planet Terror” and Judy Hicks in “Scream 4.” In 2018 she starred as Dr. Kerry Atkins in “Rampage” and Gail Mazzuchelli in the NBC musical drama “Rise.” In 2019 she played Carrie in one episode of Bravo’s “Dirty John” and in 2020 starred in two episodes of “Manhunt.”

#7: Shane Obedzinski

Obedzinksi was the other half of the Timmons duo, playing younger brother and Timmy’s echo, Tommy. Like his fictional brother, Obedzinski has remained very quiet since the 90s, with his last role being Young Barry in 1993’s “Hidden Fears.” In 2017 he appeared in a short movie called “Space Gila from the Deep.” But that was just a hobby. Obedzinski has long left acting behind and now operates a pizza restaurant in Brandon, Florida called Times Square Pizza. Despite not acting since 1993, Obedzinski claims that he’s still recognized by fans of the movie.

#6: Brandon Adams

Adams was quite the prominent child actor, having starred as Kenny DeNunez in “The Sandlot” and Jesse Hall in the first two “Mighty Ducks” movies. Adams has remained relatively quiet throughout the years, although he periodically appears in TV shows and video games. For example, he provided the voice of Rai in “Kingdom Hearts II” back in 2005. In 2014 he appeared in a short movie titled “Stuck in the Corners” and in 2018 was credited as Wales in a TV series titled “Reborn.”

#5: Marty York

York had a busy 1993, playing Yeah-Yeah in “The Sandlot,” Boy #1 in an episode of “Saved by the Bell: The College Years,” and Larry in two episodes of “Boy Meets World.” He continued acting until 1997, but then didn’t reappear until 2010. Since then he’s starred as Pauly D in an episode of “The Eric Andre Show” and Creep in an episode of Showtime’s “SMILF.” He currently has two movies in development titled “Super Bois” and “Due Justice.” Oh, and he is absolutely shredded, having split his time between acting and personal fitness.

#4: Chauncey Leopardi

Leopardi was another well known child actor thanks to his roles as Squints in “The Sandlot,” Cameron in “Father of the Bride,” and Nicky in “Casper.” He reprised his role as Squints in the 2007 direct-to-video sequel “The Sandlot: Heading Home” and appeared as Eddie in the 2013 movie “Coldwater.” You also may have seen him lip synching Logic’s verses in the “Homicide” music video! But Leopardi has mostly left Hollywood and acting behind, telling People magazine, “I spend most of my time being a dad and a husband, a business owner, just working hard doing my thing.”

#3: Mike Vitar

Playing Sandlot leader Benny the Jet Rodriguez was Mike Vitar. While Benny the Jet grew up to be a famous baseball player, Vitar took a different path in life. He actually retired from acting in 1997 and started training to become a firefighter. Since 2002, Vitar has worked for the Los Angeles Fire Department. Unfortunately, Vitar found himself in trouble in 2015 after helping assault a man named Samuel Chang on Halloween night. The confrontation left Chang with kidney failure and severe head trauma. Vitar was charged with felony assault and pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery, receiving three years’ probation and 90 days of community service. He was also suspended from the LAFD for six months.

#2: Patrick Renna

You probably know who Patrick Renna played, because for some reason, the man looks exactly the same as he did in 1993. It’s truly bizarre. Unlike many of his co-stars, Renna has continued acting throughout the years and has appeared in episodes of “CSI” and “Bones.” In 2018 he scored his biggest role in some time, playing Cupcake in two episodes of Netflix’s wrestling comedy “GLOW.” He also recently appeared as himself in an episode of “Hell’s Kitchen.” Renna has since become a father, announcing the news to People magazine in 2018.

#1: Tom Guiry

And finally we come to Scotty Smalls himself. Guiry’s post “Sandlot” film credits include “Black Hawk Down” and “Mystic River”. Guiry has had his own run-in with the law, allegedly head-butting a police officer at Houston airport in 2013. In 2015 he appeared as Billy Brother Trapper in “The Revenant,” and in 2017 played Wilson in the Vince Vaughn-led “Brawl in Cell Block 99.” These days he balances acting with his life in Trenton, New Jersey, where he works at a Whole Foods and cares for his three children. He’s currently set to star as Father James T. McHugh in the already controversial film “Roe v. Wade”.
