Travis Shoots His Shot The date when everything changed for Travis Kelce was July 8th, 2023. This is when he attended the Taylor Swift concert in Kansas City. Swift was mentioned on the New Heights podcast, hosted by Travis Kelce and his brother Jason a few weeks later. Kelce revealed that he made a friendship bracelet for Swift with his number on it, but was disappointed because she didnt give him the time of the day; meaning, he couldnt follow through with his plan. It was later revealed that he had someone play cupid in order to get Swifts attention. Fans have various theories on who this person could be. Chiefs coach Andy Reid and Swift knew each other before she met Kelce, but we also know that Swifts dancer Kam Saunders has a brother who was a Chiefs player back in the day. While its unclear who the cupid was, it is obvious that shooting your shot sometimes pays off big time. Dating Rumors Spread Fast forward to September, and the Swift-Kelce dating rumors begin to spread. Kelces brother Jason was publicly asked about them on TV, but stated he couldnt comment. He was once again asked about the rumors during a radio show and he jokingly revealed that the rumors are 100% true. However, the internet being the internet, took that seriously. Just a day later, Travis Kelce was asked about Swift as well, and he revealed that he had put the ball in her court; since hed seen her rock out the Arrowhead Stadium, it was time for her to come watch him play. At that point, it still wasnt clear whether the two were seeing each other - or even met yet - but Kelces comment confirmed they were indeed talking. Taylor Starts Attending Chiefs Games Everyone anxiously waited for the Chiefs game three days after Kelces announcement that the ball was in Swifts court. Would Swift attend the game? She sure did. Along with Kelces mother Donna, she was spotted in Travis suite and cheered Kelce on when he scored a touchdown. Her appearance at the game went viral, with many taking this as confirmation that the two were an item - after all, Swift was known for being an Eagles fan rather than a Chiefs fan. After the game, the two were filmed leaving together. While this made the dating rumors spread even more, a source revealed that things werent quite official just yet. Hold that thought. Relationship Officially Confirmed After a few more appearances at Chiefs games and mentions on Kelces New Heights podcast, Swift was officially considered to be a part of Kelces world somewhere around October 2023. Even Kelces mom spoke about hanging out with Swift and called the whole thing a wild ride. That same month, Swift and Kelce both appeared in the same episode of Saturday Night Live - Swift introduced musical artist Ice Spice and Kelce acted in a sketch about Swift and the NFL. That same night, the two left hand-in-hand and Swifties went berserk with the viral photos and videos showing Kelce acting protectively of her. It was all too adorable, and the pair definitely had the worlds attention. By the end of October 2023, a source told People the pair were becoming more serious. Travis Spotted at Eras Tour & They Kiss In November 2023, Kelce visited Swift when she performed as part of her Eras tour in Argentina. Kelce watched Swifts show with her dad from the VIP section. The performance was especially notable for the lyric change in the last song, Karma, which made everyone freak out. Her singing of Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me pretty much confirmed that the romance between the two was very strong. In an adorable moment after the concert, fans spotted Kelce waiting backstage for Swift, who ran into his arms. The two shared what can be considered their first public kiss and left together in an embrace. The crowds reaction was priceless and Swifties knew this was an iconic moment. Meeting Each Others Families A lot has happened in between these moments, including Swift officially mentioning her relationship with Kelce in her Times 2023 Person of The Year interview (and clarifying that the two actually started hanging out between the fateful podcast shoutout in July and that first Kansas City Chiefs game late September). She attended more games and we got the iconic look of her wearing Kelces number on a jacket. The couple were spotted hanging out more, they spent the holidays and celebrated New Years together. Theyve met each other's families and were hanging out at games. But the big moment fans were anticipating came in January 2024, when Swift finally met Kelces brother and his wife. Kelces brother Jason Kelces wild personality was on full display, and according to his brother, Swift loved him. Super Bowl Win & PDA Chiefs 2024 Super Bowl win brought us footage of Swift and Kelce on the field, looking absolutely smitten by one another. Swift was invested throughout the game and took everyone by surprise when she came on the field to congratulate Kelce with Kelces mother. The fun continued as the couple celebrated their win post-game. We got to see them party from many angles. Travis Performs at an Eras Tour Stop On June 22nd, 2024, the pair went Instagram official as Swift posted a photo with Kelce and the British royals as they attended the Eras Tour. But it was the next day that they gave their fans a surprise of a lifetime. The crowd completely lost their minds when they spotted a third person on stage before her I Can Do It With A Broken Heart performance. Kelce himself joined two of Swifts backup dancers and showed off his acting chops as well as some silly dance moves. As a part of the bit, Kelce casually picked up Swift, carried her to the stage sofa, and helped touch up her makeup. The performance ended with the crowd cheering him on and with no one quite believing what just happened.
