Able to slip past all of Teru’s defences, CLAW’s strongest esper didn’t even need to use half his strength in order to lay the beatdown on the poor blonde.

“Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works” (2014-15) The former Archer-class servant is the embodiment of smugness and arrogance, and as infuriating as that might be, he might have earned it given that he’s got something as ridiculously powerful as the Gates of Babylon under his command. Even against a regenerating behemoth like Berserker who has the strength of Hercules, the Babylonian hero’s vast treasury proves to be too much, not only restraining the mass of hulking muscle, but peppering him with enough weapons to turn him into a pin cushion! Crazy to think he owned a monster like this but lost to a teen like Shirou…

“One Punch Man” (2015-19) This match up was never going to go well for everyone’s favourite cyclist, especially when his foe was a giant fish man that mutated in the rain to the point where he became a titanic freakazoid - one strong enough to even rip apart a walking weapon like Genos. Unfortunately for Mumen, he doesn’t have a cybernetic body to protect him from those monstrous punches, leaving him bloodied and broken and in desperate need of a Saitama assist. At the very least, he showed that in his heart he’s more of a crusader for justice than many of the elites of the S-Class brigade.

“Fairy Tail” (2009-19) There’s only room for one Fairy Tail Guild Master. In this series’ most climactic battle between magical old geezers, Makarov is forced to fight against the guild’s second master, one now flying the flag of Grimoire Heart and with destruction on the brain. Despite being able to transform himself to the size of a giant and almost unleash the power of Fairy Law, Makarov’s spells prove to be utterly useless against Hades’ darkness. With his arsenal dried up, Grandpa Makarov can’t even land a single hit before his predecessor leaves him out cold on the Tenrou Island floor.

“One Piece” (1999-) Fighting against an Admiral is already a risky decision, even if you’re a pirate with immeasurable strength. Taking on an Admiral when you’re a member of Luffy’s crew pre-time skip? That’s essentially suicide. After barely surviving against the robotic hell that was the Pacifista, the Straw Hats are greeted by the light manipulating sociopath that is Kizaru, whose Logia body proves to not only be invulnerable to harm, but nearly went about exterminating Zoro with a glowing kick to the face. Thankfully, Rayleigh was there to save the day.

“Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods” (2013) The fact Goku and all of his Super Saiyan 3 glory was utterly trounced by this one purple feline remains an absolute shocker. With his status as a God of Destruction, all it took for Beerus to knock Goku off his high horse was nothing more than the occasional chop, the magnitude of which proved strong enough to knock the Saiyan out with ease. Seriously, this is the kind of one-sidedness we’d aspect if he was back fighting Raditz!

“Naruto Shippuden” (2007-17) How do you ensure that your big bad manages to live up to all the hype? Have him wipe out an army single-handedly. After being brought back to the land of the living, Madara proceeds to show all these youngsters why he’s the OG shinobi by taking down hordes and hordes of allied ninja with a mixture of expert hand to hand combat and elemental mastery. Breaking bodies with his fists and unleashing torrents of flames left, right and centre. It’s so unexpectedly epic that we can’t help but root for him…

“Baki the Grappler” (2001) Kudos to Baki for having the stones to challenge his father, known far and wide as the strongest and most dangerous man alive, even after he stopped an earthquake just by punching the ground. Despite being pretty ripped himself, the younger Hanma is nothing compared to his daddy, who doesn’t even move an inch while getting peppered by his son’s fists and grapples, all before effortlessly mopping the floor with him, teaching the meaning of strength in the process. Best get back to training, boy…
