Top 10 Best Lois & Clark Moments on Smallville

Top 10 Best Lois & Clark Moments on Smallville
VOICE OVER: Saraah Hicks WRITTEN BY: Eliza Baynes
Lois and Clark brought new meaning to power couple on Smallville. Welcome to MsMojo, and today we'll be looking at the sweetest, funniest, and most romantic moments between Clark Kent and Lois Lane on the teen superhero drama. Our countdown includes shower scene, first kiss, dunk tank, and more!

#10: Shower Scene
“Gone”

As soon as Lois is introduced in season 4, she and Clark begin to have fun, flirty moments like this one. During a run-in with a rogue helicopter in a field, our heroes get mighty dirty - literally - and retreat to the Kent Farm to clean up. While Clark is still showering, an impatient Lois makes herself at home and barges into the bathroom, giving him quite the shock. She also gives him a new nickname, as this is the first time she calls him “Smallville”. To add insult to injury, she’s wearing his clothes. And in a final moment of pure horror for Clark, she doesn’t hide when his mom shows up. It’s a comical early glimpse at the playful nature of their relationship, and it leaves us wanting more.

#9: Passion, Interrupted
“Ambush”

Speaking of “wanting more”, it seems that our young lovers definitely want more after having spent the previous night together. They come downstairs smiling, with Lois dressed only in Clark’s football jersey, and she flirtatiously eats a strawberry. But a hearty morning meal isn’t what she has in mind. She then suggests a less conventional spot for their activities, which turns out to be their undoing. After much passion at the front door, it opens to reveal none other than Lois’ dad and sister. The smile drops off of Lois’ face as she awkwardly addresses her father, a testament to actress Erica Durance’s excellent comedic timing. While we appreciate any scene where Clois gets lovey-dovey, this moment was so hot and hilarious that it had to make our list.

#8: Awkward Meeting
“Crusade”

Ah, the meet-cute, that enchanting moment when an on-screen couple first encounters each other. It often takes place in an elevator, under an awning on a rainy day, or…in the middle of a corn field??? Well, this is Smallville, after all! Important moments happen in corn fields here, not least of which is Clark Kent’s first meeting with Lois Lane. She’s in town to investigate her cousin Chloe’s death and swerves off the road, while he’s got no memory and is lying totally nude amongst the crops. Aaawk-waaard! Although of all the people to catch you in the buff, it might as well be your future partner! Knowing that these two are destined to be together makes this scene incredibly exciting, and her name reveal at the end is just perfect.

#7: Comforting Embrace
“Arctic”

From the very beginning, Lois and Clark’s relationship has involved a fair amount of bantering and bickering. Even in their more tender moments, Lois was likely to downplay anything too emotional with a friendly punch. But when she catches him crying after watching a farewell video from Lana, she shows him how much she really cares. They communicate wordlessly, and the look on her face says it all: she hates to see her friend in pain. Running over to him, she wraps Clark in a hug and offers him her sympathy. Although it’ll still be a while before they officially get together as a couple, this sweet moment demonstrates that there’s already plenty of love between them.

#6: The L-Word
“Homecoming”

Saying “I love you” is a big deal for any couple, but for a power couple like Lois and Clark, the moment is utterly magical. After missing his chance to dance with Lois at the Smallville High School reunion, Clark turns his barn into a perfectly-lit private party. She tries to play it cool, but drops her defenses once she sees that he’s serious. Once they get their footwork figured out, their slow dance to the gentle music begins. Gazing adoringly at Lois, Clark says those three little words, and a delighted Lois reciprocates. Our already-melted hearts were total puddles by the time Clark started to float, lifting them both into the air. It's a literal take on the notion that real love can make you feel like you’re flying.

#5: First Kiss
“Hydro”

We know that Mr. Kent and Ms. Lane’s first real kiss only happened in season 9, but technically, the first time they locked lips was in season 6. Clark, in an attempt to protect Oliver Queen’s secret identity, was dressed as the Green Arrow. Lois, who had recently figured out that identity, kissed Clark thinking that he was her boyfriend Oliver. Quickly realizing her “mistake”, she slapped her faux beau. Although this moment didn’t feature any actual romance between Lois and Clark, we had to include it because of how shocked-and-yet-thrilled he looked afterwards. The aftermath was pretty funny, too. In a later scene between Clark, Lois, and Chloe, Lois admitted that “Green Arrow”’s smooch was spectacular. Veeeery interesting, indeed!

#4: Coming Clean
“Isis”

No matter how much they cared about each other, Clark and Lois could never really be happy together with a huge secret between them. That’s why it was such a relief when he finally came clean. Although he had told her about his superpowers before, his confession was undone by time travel. This time, she figured it out by kissing The Blur, and recognizing that his kiss and Clark’s were one and the same. A few episodes later, she tried to gently coax it out of him, and was disappointed when he held back. But after a heartfelt speech that stopped Lois in her tracks, Clark revealed the truth. Her elated reaction was absolutely heartwarming, matched only by his wonder and delight as he realized that she already knew.

#3: Dunk Tank
“Façade”

When Lois has to attend Smallville High after discovering that she didn’t actually graduate from high school, it’s not so convenient for her, but super-convenient for Clois fans! At a Crows pep rally, she gets the chance to drop Clark into a dunk tank, and our girl goes for it. After a lighthearted exchange, she hits her target and Clark makes a splash. The fact that it’s a wet T-shirt moment is entertaining enough, but then she runs up and affectionately tousles his hair, which is freakin’ adorable. Their huge grins reveal some major chemistry, much to Chloe’s chagrin. It’s a bummer of a moment for her, which is reflected in the Avril Lavigne song lyrics, but as far as Lois and Clark moments go, it ranks among the best.

#2: The Wedding
“Finale, Part 1”

Okay, so they don’t actually manage to get married here, but it’s still a beautiful scene before Darkseid ruins all the fun! It starts with a tense moment when Lois can’t find Clark, only to have him reassure her that he is, and always will be, right there. Then they begin their walk down the aisle, bathed in golden light and smiling sweetly at each other. When Clark sees his deceased father Jonathan standing next to his mother Martha, it’s an emotional moment, and yet still a joyful one. The icing on this wedding cake is their lovely and heartfelt vows. It’s everything we imagined for their special day.

#1: The Plane
“Finale, Part 2”

It’s all been leading up to this. In the series finale, we witness Clark Kent become the hero he was always meant to be: Superman. Fittingly, the first person to see him in his red-and-blue suit is his love Lois Lane. She’s aboard Air Force One when it hits some major turbulence caused by the rogue planet Apokolips. But all is well once Superman saves the day. Flying over to the plane window, he smiles as he sees Lois looking at him with a mixture of deep love, admiration, and pride. Once he flies off, an exhilarated Lois gets right back to work. After all, Clark’s not the only one with a destiny! It’s a truly epic and moving moment, and it’s emblematic of their mutually supportive partnership.
