Top 10 Exact Moments We Discovered a Celeb Has a Secret Talent
VOICE OVER: Sophia Franklin WRITTEN BY: Don Ekama
We knew these celebs had gifts, but they were hiding a secret talent as well. Welcome to MsMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most surprising moments when celebrities showed off their lesser-known but equally impressive talents. Our countdown includes Aaron Paul, Geena Davis, Margot Robbie, and more!

#10: Cara Delevingne
Beatboxing

When model and actress Cara Delevingne graced “The Tonight Show” in 2015 to promote her film “Paper Towns,” she ended up proving to be the ultimate triple threat. And no, not because of her singing skills, but for her incredible beatboxing. After being handed a microphone by host Jimmy Fallon, Delevingne launched into an impressive beatboxing routine that left everyone’s jaws on the floor. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, Fallon cued in The Roots frontman Tariq Trotter, who delivered a freestyle rap to Delevingne’s sick beats. If we had any doubts about her extraordinary range of talents, this clip definitely cleared them all.

#9: Margot Robbie
Tattoo Artistry

The cast of 2016’s “Suicide Squad” has been pretty candid about their behind-the-scenes antics, most notably giving each other matching tattoos on the bottom of their toes. While discussing this on “The Graham Norton Show,” actress Margot Robbie decided to up the ante by demonstrating her tattoo skills live. Screen legend Harrison Ford playfully declined getting inked, so Norton brought out a crew member who happened to be a big fan of Robbie. The actress didn’t quite inspire a lot of confidence in her skills, but the brave crew member was all in. It was a delightful glimpse into Robbie’s playful side, but she’d be the first to admit she’s not exactly a pro at it.

#8: Geena Davis
Archery

Oscar-winning actress Geena Davis found a new passion for archery after watching American archer Justin Huish snag gold at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Davis took her newfound obsession to the next level by training hard and becoming so good that she almost qualified for the 2000 Olympics. Along the way, she has competed in several local, national and international tournaments, taking home some shiny prizes. Although she has often gushed about her love for archery in interviews, it was in a 2013 Funny or Die sketch that she really showed off her brilliant skills. Oscar-winning actress, formidable gender equality advocate and badass archer? Geena Davis clearly is in a league of her own.

#7: Andrew Garfield
Gymnastics

Andrew Garfield may now be one of Hollywood’s most celebrated actors, but his life could have taken an entirely different turn. As a child, he was passionate about gymnastics and actively pursued it until an awkward experience at age 11 gave him pause. Although his career path shifted, Garfield never lost his love for gymnastics. In 2017, he appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” where he was dared to raise money for breast cancer research by showcasing his skills. Always up for a good cause, Garfield accepted the challenge and wowed the audience with an impressive backflip. His willingness to risk a tumble for charity proves he’s not just a superhero on-screen, but in real life too.

#6: Elliot Page
Juggling

Canadian actor Elliot Page began his career at the age of ten and essentially grew up on film sets. With loads of free time and not many kids his age around, Page faced a pretty lonely childhood. Sad story, we know. But to fill those lonely hours, the actor picked up juggling and got pretty darn good at it over the years. When he appeared on “Conan” in 2013, Page was invited to display his incredible juggling skills for the audience. You’d never guess it from his unassuming appearance, but Page actually juggles like a pro, effortlessly switching up the directions and patterns while doing so. Now that’s an “Inception” level mind-blown moment!

#5: Sydney Sweeney
Car Maintenance/Repair

Celebrities often keep their social media feeds meticulously polished, flaunting luxurious vacations and exclusive events. However, actress Sydney Sweeney uses hers to showcase an entirely different side: her passion for cars. On her TikTok account, Sweeney posts about her love for vintage automobiles and takes her followers through the intricate process of restoring them. But she doesn’t just hand them off to a mechanic, no. Sweeney rolls up her sleeves and gets her hands dirty, doing the restoration work herself. Since 2021, she has fixed up her 1969 Ford Bronco and also partnered with Ford to work on more cars. It seems the world is Sweeney’s automobile playground, and we’re all just along for the ride.

#4: Mark Ruffalo
Unicycling

Of all the hidden talents a celebrity might have, we bet this one wasn’t on your radar. Mark Ruffalo’s 2014 appearance on “The Graham Norton Show” revealed a delightful secret about him: he can ride a unicycle. Apparently, Ruffalo learned as a kid, but hadn’t ridden one in over two decades. Of course, host Graham Norton couldn’t resist bringing out not one, but two unicycles for Ruffalo to walk the walk– or in this case, ride the ride. Despite the long hiatus, Ruffalo hopped on and executed a near-flawless ride on his first try. His second attempt wasn’t as smooth, but he still managed it without hurting himself. Who knows, maybe we’ll see this talent in the next “Avengers” movie.

#3: Aaron Paul
Dog Whispering

While some learned to juggle or ride a unicycle as kids, Aaron Paul went in a completely different direction. For some reason, as a child, Paul acquired the unique ability of dog whispering. Specifically, he can determine a dog’s sex just by petting its back. If there were any skeptics out there, Paul silenced them all during a 2013 appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” The actor was blindfolded and presented with four pooches, all of which he took his time to pet and, we guess, communicate telepathically with. To everyone’s surprise, Paul correctly guessed all four dogs’ sexes, announcing his findings with classic Jesse Pinkman flair. Needless to say, we’re thoroughly impressed– and just a little bit terrified.

#2: Angelina Jolie
Butterfly Knife Skills

Long before she was slicing through action scenes on “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” Angelina Jolie had already developed a deep fascination with knives. The obsession was born in her childhood, during which she began collecting them. Today, she boasts an impressive collection of knives from all over the world, reportedly worth thousands of dollars. Jolie opened about this hobby of hers when she was interviewed on “Late Night with Conan O'Brien” back in 1998. She even dazzled O’Brien and the audience with a butterfly knife demonstration. Just a few years later, she would go on to perfect these skills on the set of “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider,” a role she was clearly destined for.

#1: Pierce Brosnan
Fire Eating

You may know him as James Bond, but Pierce Brosnan has more tricks up his sleeve than just his acting chops. While learning to act as a teenager, Brosnan stumbled upon a fire eating class and immediately decided to join due to the presence of a few topless women there. Classic James Bond move. After achieving worldwide fame, Brosnan flaunted his fire eating prowess on “Muppets Tonight.” Despite how impressive it was, this turned out to be his last public display due to a little accident. After using the wrong fuel, the flames backfired into his mouth, leaving him with minor burns. But you’d never know from watching, proving just how much of a pro Brosnan truly is.
