#10: The Remainder “Dungeons, Dungeons, and More Dungeons”

When Dipper can’t find a partner to play D&D and More D, he’s pleasantly surprised when he learns that the mysterious Grunkle Ford is also into the game. Unfortunately, an accidental roll of an infinity sided die leads to the game’s villainous mascot, Probabilitor the Annoying, coming to life and kidnapping them. With his stated goal being to eat the duo’s brains to steal their intelligence, Probabilitor gives them a hypothetical equation that’s also a threat. When asked what the remainder will be, Mabel, who’s come to rescue them along with the others, interjects: [broll” “Your butt!”] The fact that Probabilitor specifies that his posterior isn’t part of the equation is especially amusing - and raises a few questions about the math he does.

#9: The Statue of Liberty “The Stanchurian Candidate”

Stan Pines is a lot of things, and diplomatic isn’t one of them; which is why it’s so frightening for Dipper and Mabel when he decides to run for office. However, it’s even scarier when the father of their rival Gideon decides to run. To stop him, the Pines twins use a pair of ties invented by Ford to control Stan remotely, hoping to prevent him from sticking his foot in his mouth. This works at first, with the kids using Stan to say things that sound patriotic and approachable. But when Stan finds out, he rejects their aid (and his brother’s) and tries to go it on his own. The results are perhaps best epitomized by his opinions on one of America’s greatest landmarks: [broll: “And uh, that is why, um... the Statue of Liberty is our hottest landmark. Alright alright, she's kind of mannish. What do you want from me?”]

#8: A Tender Moment “The Golf War”

Mabel isn’t usually the most competitive girl around, but the snooty, popular, and rich Pacifica Northwest brings out another side of her. After the two of them compete in mini golf and Pacifica wins, Mabel challenges her to a rematch, which of course has to take place at midnight. Grunkle Stan is, of course, all too happy to help the kids with breaking and entering, but he initially decides to stay in the car with oddball Mystery Shack worker Soos. Since Soos is cutting up his shirts to turn them into “w-necks”, he gets shirtless, just as Stan is putting on some relaxing music. The ensuing awkward moment is as funny as it is weird.

#7: Stan Wrong Song “Boss Mabel”

Top 10 Reasons Why Francine Smith Should Divorce Stan

After Stan’s harsh treatment of his employees becomes too much, Mabel confronts him about it, claiming she could do his job better by being nice. Amused, Stan makes a wager that if she can make more money than he does in three days, he’ll do a humiliating dance and sing a song written by Mabel. Although Stan nearly succeeds, his stint on a game show ends with him losing it all, with Mabel narrowly beating him. He then has to do the “Stan Wrong Song,” dressed in a sparkly orange tracksuit. Not only is the song catchy and funny, but Stan’s halfhearted choreography, and Mabel’s insistence on multiple takes of their filming the event are great cherries on top.

#6: Three O’Clock Appointment “The Last Mabelcorn”

Also in:

Top 10 Times Gravity Falls Was Censored

In order to protect the family from the villainous Bill Cipher, Ford requires a very special ingredient: unicorn hair. Given her obsession with all things sparkly, including unicorns, Mabel is disturbingly eager to volunteer for the quest. She and her gal pals locate the enchanted glade where the supposed last of the unicorns live. The unicorn, Celestabellebethabelle, is incredibly dramatic and also quite judgmental, as she charges Mabel with performing good deeds to become pure of heart, only to claim the 1000 deeds she performs are not enough. The unicorn then excuses herself for an urgent appointment. Her breathy, over-the-top neighing certainly has us fighting for breath.

#5: Pay You “Northwest Mansion Mystery”

While Mabel might be Pacifica’s main rival, she’s not very friendly with Dipper either. So when Pacifica asks for Dipper’s help with a ghost at her mansion, he’s pretty reluctant. Still, the duo end up bonding while fighting against the ghost, which is scarier than they’d bargained for. Eventually, Dipper manages to trap it in a mirror and the pair of them roll down a hill into the Northwests’ garden, and they celebrate, with Pacifica hugging Dipper; before realizing what she’s done and offering to bribe him to forget it happened. Not only is this funny, it’s also adorable. And yeah - we kind of ship them a little.

#4: “Hot Belgian Waffles!” “Not What He Seems”

Also in:

Top 10 Adult Jokes in Gravity Falls You Missed

Stan’s secret project eventually draws the attention of the government, who arrest him for the theft of toxic chemicals, among other things. Dipper and Mabel don’t believe it for a second and are eager to clear their Grunkle’s name. The Pines twins locate the security tapes of the night in question. Although Stan’s story about restocking initially appears genuine, some fast-forwarding soon reveals a figure in a hazmat suit returning with barrels. Mabel argues that it could be anyone in the suit, but a loud, breakfast food related outburst soon confirms that it’s Stan - who then realizes he can use a real swear word since he’s alone. The knock on the fourth wall and invented curse make this a favorite.

#3: Lost Cameras “The Legend of the Gobblewonker”

Also in:

10 Times Reporters LOST IT on Live TV

A trip to the lake soon leads Dipper and Mabel to set out in search of the local Gravity Falls lake monster, the Gobblewonker. Hoping to use a photo of it to earn some prize money, Dipper buys 17 disposable cameras, to avoid the hallmarks of failed monster hunts. However, his plan soon goes awry, as he, Mabel, and Soos rapidly lose the cameras in a hilarious string of unlikely circumstances. Although the gag continues throughout the episode, to the point where they lose them all, the first sequence is arguably the funniest.

#2: Marriage Is Terrible “The Legend of the Gobblewonker”

Also in:

Top 20 TV Marriage Proposal Scenes Ever

Although Mabel and Dipper end up monster hunting at the lake, they’re originally taken there by Stan, who hopes to spend some time bonding with his grand niece and nephew. However, when they depart, he’s left to try to find companionship with the other people in the area. It…doesn’t go so well. From jealousy at old timers who are bonding with their young family, to inappropriate attempts to bond with someone else’s kids, Stan’s lake encounters are all pretty funny. But easily the most hilarious is his attempt to tell a bad ex-wife joke to a man getting ready to propose to his girlfriend. It’s the extra attempt at the punchline and his little arm swing that really sell it. Before we get to our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions: Mayoral Process “The Stanchurian Candidate” Sleeping Under the Stars “Carpet Diem” It’s Funny “Dreamscaperers” The Hillbilly “Society of the Blind Eye” Stan’s Many Crimes “The Stanchurian Candidate”

#1: “I Eat Kids” “The Love God”

Also in:

Top 10 Classic I Love Lucy Moments

Each year, Stan dreads the annual Woodstick Festival, a music concert that attracts young people to Gravity Falls. But when Soos points out the potential revenue source, the cantankerous grump warms to the idea. He and Soos construct a hot air balloon shaped like Stan’s head to drum up business, with the caption, “I Heart Kids.” However, some shoddy workmanship leads to not only a premature launch, but some missing letters and the balloon catching on fire. The ensuing disaster is a perfect storm of hilarity, as the terrifying Stan head descends on the festival.
