10 Must Watch Anime of Spring 2023

Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we are counting down our picks for the Top 10 Most Anticipated Anime for Spring 2023. For this list, we’ll be looking at the titles set to be released this Spring that we can’t wait for! Think we glossed over a must-watch anime debut? Let us know in the comments!

#10: “Hell’s Paradise” (2023)

MAPPA does not know how to stop! A dark and gritty descent into damnation, the series is set to follow the likes of convicted assassin Gabimaru, who in order to be pardoned from death row, is tasked with venturing into a ruthless realm filled with all manner of horror. We’ve seen what this studio can do with its action as well as demonic denizens, so we’re hoping for some bloody and brutal fun! At the very least it should serve as the perfect segue-way between now and whenever Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 comes out!

#9: “The Ancient Magus' Bride” Season Two (2023)

Top 10 Anticipated Anime of Fall 2017

The dark fairy tale romance makes a triumphant return…in school uniforms, apparently. Following on from their harrowing ordeal with Joseph, the unlikely pairing of Elias and Chise find themselves enrolled in the College of Magic, and knowing how academies based around sorcery tend to go, there’s going to be an ample amount of social troubles along with dangerous magic to deal with. Glad to see the spark hasn’t gone out of this series just yet.

#8: “Masamune-kun's Revenge R” (2023)

Speaking of anime we didn’t expect to see again, Masamune is back, and it looks like he’s still up to his old tricks of trying to make the girl who broke his heart as a kid fall in love with his new muscular persona…just so he can break her heart in return. From the looks of things, we can expect a lot more romantic hijinks, as well as a few curve balls in Masumune’s ploy as adolescent adoration starts to rear its head again! Hopefully a pleasant surprise to ease out some of the season’s heavier content!

#7: “KonoSuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World!” (2023)

Everyone loves Megumin, without question, but how did our favorite spellcaster find her talent for explosion magic? This prequel series looks like it’s going to explore Megumin’s early years and reveal how she found her niche as an over the top mage before ending up as a member of Kazuma’s party. Honestly, we could watch Megumin make crap go boom on loop for hours, but from the looks of things, there looks to be some genuine character building going on here! Certainly makes a solid change from Kazuma nearly getting wrecked by Sylvia!

#6: “TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You” Season Two (2023)

One of the coziest romances we’ve seen in recent memory, one that dared to go against the grain and ask – what happens to anime MCs after they tie the knot? Nasa and Tsukasa’s whirlwind romance was a complete and utter delight, free of the usual tropes, and instead focused on their comedic exploits as they navigated young love, marriage, and the real possibility that Tsukasa isn’t all she appears to be. One can only hope their relationship continues to foster with a second outing. Inject this heart-warming goodwill into our veins right now!

#5: “Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury” Season Two (2023)

Top 10 Mobile Suits From The Gundam Franchise

The happy-go-lucky, slice of life, yuri fun is over – time for the darkness and anguish Gundam is known for! With tensions rising between Space-fairers, Earth-born, as well as the various ploys of the mobile suit corporations, the second part to this excellent addition to the Gundam lore is going to hit hard. Though the biggest conflict will undoubtedly center around Suletta…who we now know has no problem letting her Gundam squash the life out of people without a second thought. Needless to say, her and Miorine’s relationship is going to be a tad tumultuous going forward.

#4: “Ranking of Kings: Treasure Chest of Courage” (2023)

Also in:

Ranking All the Dragon Ball Films

We don’t know if it’s a sequel. We don’t know if it’s an OVA – all we know is that we are being graced with more Ranking of Kings and we could not be happier! From the previews, it looks like we’ll be getting glimpses of the side characters and how they came into their own, such as Hiling and Desha. Sounds great! Just give us copious amounts of Bojji along the way and we’ll be satisfied. Then announce you have three more seasons on the way! Come on Wit!

#3: “Mashle: Magic and Muscles” (2023)

Ever wondered what would happen if Saitama were to attend Hogwarts? Well, now you don’t have to – because we have this hilarious action-packed adaptation to pave the way. Despite lacking any magical prowess in a world of wizards and witches, Mash is a physical force of nature, to the extent that with muscles and willpower alone, he can compete with any loser with a wand. And now he has to attend a magical academy while keeping his lack of talent under wraps…while still beating the crap of every evil mage that comes his way. We cannot wait for this crazy train to set off!

#2: “Dr. Stone: New World” (2023)

Also in:

Top 10 Anticipated Anime of 2023

They cracked the mysteries of science to bring civilization back to the stone world, now it’s time to get down to brass tacks and investigate the phenomenon that brought humanity to a standstill. Leaving their new homes behind, Senku and his merry band take to the seas to locate the source of the petrification and hopefully undo it. Naturally, it’s hardly going to be smooth sailing, with the new foes waiting on the new shores with greed and violence on the brain. Nothing more science can’t overcome!

#1: “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc” (2023)

Also in:

Top 20 Demon Slayer Fights

Another year, another chance for UFOTable and their Unlimited Budget Works to bring us the next chapter in Tanjiro’s demon slayer journey! Following on from their beyond bonkers confrontation and eventual victory over the Demon Moon Twins, it looks like the gang are off to once again get their blades mended, and are more than likely to find themselves clashing with Muzan and his horde once again. At least they’ll have the Mist and Love Hashira at their backs! We’re not quite sure how they’re going to top what happened last time, but we’re happy to wait and be proven wrong!
