Top 10 One Piece One Man Army Scenes
Welcome to WatchMojo, and today were counting down our picks for the moments where a single One Piece character took on a larger number of opponents.
#10: Ace vs. Billions
Luffys brother makes quite a first impression! Portgas D. Ace reunites with his little bro in Alabasta. His more polite attitude strikes a contrast to Luffy, as does the fact that he serves under Whitebeard, the strongest pirate alive. He gets to show off just what one of Whitebeards men is capable of when the crew is attacked by the Billions, members of Baroque Works. Instead of a massive sea battle, Ace simply hops on his little ship, leaps over a row of the Billions ships, and destroys them all with a single Fire Fist! What a beast!
#9: Mihawk vs. the Krieg Pirates
Don Krieg and his huge fleet set sail for the Grand Line. East Blues biggest pirate crew seemed set to make a splash in the pirates paradise. However, everyone is shocked when the limp home, battered and defeated. Luffy asks the first mate, Gin, what happened to them. Gin reveals that all 50 ships, barring Kriegs flagship, were destroyed by a single man, the warlord Dracule Mihawk. As if that wasnt impressive enough, the worlds strongest swordsman follows them back to East Blue to finish the job, slicing Kriegs last remaining ship into pieces! Its early in the series, but seeing a glimpse at the peak of what One Piece characters are capable of is great!
#8: Kaido vs the Nine Red Scabbards
Odens retainers are eager to take their long-awaited revenge on their masters killer. The only problem is that their opponent is considered the worlds strongest creature! Although the Scabbards put up a valiant effort and manage some superficial damage to Kaido, they still get wrecked! The pirate emperor cuts off arms and beats all of them into the ground with his club. Outnumbered or not, Kaido is both literally and figuratively a beast! And on land, sea, or in the air, we always bet on Kaido! Well, unless hes fighting the future Pirate King, of course.
#7: Doflamingo vs G-5
When a rather large wrench is tossed into his plans, Doflamingo makes a beeline to Punk Hazard to take down the monkey that threw it. Hes disappointed to find that Luffy and Law have left, and the only people left are the Marines of G-5. That doesnt stop him from knocking most of them out with Conquerors Haki though. Old Doffy also doesnt hesitate to slice up or puppeteer the rest! Even a Vice Admiral like Smoker doesnt stand a chance! He may never stop smiling, but Doflamingos fury is still terrifying to witness!
#6: Kizaru vs Supernovas
The Marines consider the Admirals to be their strongest forces for good reason! Admiral Kizarus arrival on Sabaody spells disaster for the rookie pirates there. While many of them have incredible and downright broken Devil Fruit abilities, none of these Supernovas can stand against him! Kizaru kicks several of them at lightspeed, and fills a few full of lasers! Even getting his body cut in half does nothing to slow Kizaru down! The Supernovas may be promising up-and-comers, but theyre up against a veteran Marine who can flex all over them!
#5: Garp vs Blackbeard Pirates
Speaking of veteran Marines, the granddaddy of the organization (and of Luffy) is Monkey D. Garp! The man once considered the Pirate Kings greatest Marine rival is rarely seen in action. But, when his protege Koby is kidnapped by the Blackbeard Pirates, Garp arrives to save him in style! After Garp launches his ship into the middle of the island, he proceeds to send hundreds of pirates flying with an incredible, Haki-infused punch! Once he lands, Garp is just as impressive, taking on his former student Kuzan/Aokiji and any other member of the Blackbeard Pirates to get in his way! He really lives up to the legend and the family name!
#4: Luffy Knocks Out the New Fishman Pirates
When the Straw Hats squad up to rescue the royal family of Fishman Island from the New Fishman Pirates, the odds seem stacked against them. Even if they are stronger after the time-skip, theyre facing 100 thousand opponents! But then, Hody Jones starts mouthing off about becoming Pirate King! A suitably furious Luffy wades into the middle of the charging Fishmen, and unleashes his Conquerors Haki, knocking out half of the enemy forces! And since Hody cant do the same, he should forget about being Pirate King! Hody may have an army - but the Straw Hats have a Luffy!
#3: Zoro vs. 100 Bounty Hunters
The crews first island in the Grand Line is Whisky Peak. Most of them pass out after celebrating with the surprisingly welcoming inhabitants. However, Zoro isnt fooled - the townspeople are all from Baroque Works, a bounty hunting organization. As his crewmates sleep, Zoro decides to fight their enemies himself! He doesnt use brute force on all of them, instead fighting intelligently, using his environment and playing them against each other. Its a fun fight that feels like a more grounded mini-action movie. Granted, theres still plenty of wacky antics and a duck involved, but it still establishes why Zoro is a real beast and second only to Luffy!
#2: Whitebeards Last Stand
Widely regarded as the worlds strongest man, Whitebeard is sick and dying by the time of the Marineford War. But, as he reminds the Marines - hes still Whitebeard! Sure, he has a large crew of pirates backing him up. However, there are so many moments throughout the war of Whitebeard just destroying everyone and everything that gets between him and his adopted son, Ace. From treating giants like theyre fodder, to starting tsunamis, to turning the island nearly upside-down, Whitebeard performs feat after impressive feat throughout! While the cumulative damage does take its toll, Whitebeards final hours are still legendary!
#1: Luffy Solos Enies Lobby
When Robin is kidnapped and taken to Enies Lobby, Luffy doesnt wait for his friends to go charging in! While theyre still dealing with the front gate, Luffy goes on the warpath! Luffy proceeds to use his rubbery fists to pummel everyone who gets between him and Robin! And he gets creative with it too! He controls his opponents like puppets! He turns buildings into volcanoes with his foot! In total, the island is staffed by 10 thousand Marines and government agents, and Luffy beats up at least a thousand of them - one in ten! Its the ultimate One Piece one-man army moment - just a rubber man against the world!
