VOICE OVER: Jennifer Silverman WRITTEN BY: Tal Fox
Penny and Amy made a big bang. Welcome to MsMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the times “The Big Bang Theory's” Penny and Amy were truly bestie goals. Our countdown includes Amy's bachelorette party, spying on Priya, girls' night, and more!

#10: Girls’ Night
“The Agreement Dissection”

The ladies (and occasionally Raj) are no strangers to a night out on the town. However, one of their best outings has to be when Sheldon joins them for a night of “Priya bashing.” Amy learns the protocols of trash-talking and lets her “scientific curiosity” take over by planting one on Penny. Yes, she kissed her bestie, and she liked it. Throughout the series, these girls’ nights often show Amy’s character development and her ever-deepening bond with Penny. By season nine, she’s really found her groove within the group. Now, she’s not just one of the gang but a go-to source for advice. You might say that’s all thanks to Penny’s lasting influence.

#9: Checking Out Sheldon’s New Assistant
“The Higgs Boson Observation”

In season six, Sheldon hires a grad student named Alex as his assistant, much to Amy's surprise. She first meets her while calling Sheldon to show off her new makeover. Despite Penny's attempts to reassure her, curiosity gets the best of her, and they head down to Sheldon's office. There, Amy's primal instincts take over, and she begins to mark her territory— a tactic she's apparently used before. Yet, any anxieties Amy harbors vanish when she sees Alex hitting it off with Leonard. We know Amy meant well, but she manages to get into Penny's head and leaves her feeling a tad uneasy. Well, at least Amy gets a kick out of it.

#8: Dominating Game Night
“The Re-Entry Minimization”

It’s game night in Apartment 4A: Battle of the Sexes edition. While Sheldon’s sure he’s unbeatable, he soon gets a humbling lesson about teamwork. Amy and Penny destroy the guys at Pictionary so effortlessly that it hardly feels like much of a competition. Yet, their victory ignites a competitive fire in everyone. No matter what challenge they guys set(????), to paraphrase Penny, they have their backsides handed to them time and time again. It’s not really about skill; it’s more about how well Penny and Amy gel together. While Leonard and Sheldon are off bickering, Penny and Amy support each other. They don’t just dominate game night; they crush friendship, too.

#7: The Slumber Party
“The 21-Second Excitation”

In the early days, Amy’s a bit of an oddball who desperately wants to fit in. Yet perhaps this is most evident when the ladies have an impromptu slumber party. This is a first for Amy, and she’s determined to tick every slumber party trope in the book. There are pillow fights, nail painting, girl talk, and crank phone calls, but what’s a slumber party without a game of truth or dare? Even so, this isn’t the kind of sleepovers we remember from our youth. Things get a little tense when Bernadette hits Penny with a hard-hitting truth. Amy fails to read the room and continues trying to plow through her to-do list.

#6: Spying on Priya
“The Wildebeest Implementation”

Amy tends to take a more analytical than empathetic approach while helping Penny confront her feelings over Leonard and Priya rekindling their relationship. Now, Amy’s methods can be a bit out there, like sending a spy to gather intel at a dinner. Sure, it’s not the most adult way to handle the situation. Still, you’ve got to hand it to Amy for her dedication to Penny’s happiness. Does her plan give us high school flashbacks? Sure, but we guess her heart’s in the right place. Later on, when Penny finds herself in a sticky situation after a surprising night with Raj, Amy is right there to offer her support once again.

#5: Penny Learns That Amy’s Popular
“The Dependence Transcendence”

Penny steps up when Sheldon bails on attending a social event with Amy. Unfortunately, Sheldon isn’t the only no-show, and just like the ladies consider leaving, Bert drops some info that compels them to stay. Penny learns that university is no different from high school, cliques are still a thing, and even Caltech has its Queen Bee. Amy discovers that she is that Queen Bee, and her status has raised Sheldon’s popularity, too. You can see on Penny’s face how much she’s enjoying hearing about this side of her friends— even if Bert has no idea who Leonard is. This is a Penny and Amy bonding moment that we’ll never take for-granite.

#4: Amy’s Bachelorette Party
“The Reclusive Potential”

When it comes to your big day, finding a maid of honor like Penny is an absolute win. Sure, she learns along the way that sometimes honesty isn’t the best policy, but ultimately, she stands by the bride through thick and thin. Penny and Bernadette also deserve serious credit for pulling off Amy’s dream bachelorette party. And no, we’re not talking about tea-and-sewing snoozefest. Nope, they went all out to give Amy a night that exceeded even her wildest dreams—although, granted, her wildest dreams might’ve been the only venue they had to work with! While good friends wouldn’t dare snap embarrassing photos, you better believe best friends might, you know, for the memories.

#3: Teaching Amy How to Make a Scene
“The Weekend Vortex”

When Sheldon flakes out on their plans, Amy turns to Penny for comfort. Penny turns out to be the ultimate friend in need, doing everything she can to turn Amy’s frown upside down. When their drinking game gets a tad out of control, Penny buys herself some time by offering Amy a little girlfriend 101. While some might suggest honesty and open communication is the key to a good relationship, Penny knows that sometimes you just need a good old-fashioned dose of drama. Find yourself a hype woman like Penny when you’re creating a scene in front of your significant other’s friends. Penny’s got that role down to a science.

#2: Penny Becomes Amy’s Maid of Honor
“The Matrimonial Metric”

Amy often considers Penny her best friend, so you’d think she’d be the obvious choice for maid of honor, right? Wrong. When Amy can’t decide between her two best gal pals, she joins Sheldon in making their friends jump through hoops to determine who’s best suited for the role. Of course, everyone finds out, leaving the couple with no candidate for the job. After Sheldon chooses Leonard, his best friend, to be his best man, Penny slowly realizes that Amy is her best friend and she should be her maid of honor. Penny, who we already know is an expert at making scenes, confronts her bestie. Bernadette who right?

#1: The Painting
“The Rothman Disintegration”

Remember those friendship bracelets and matching jewelry we used to swap with our besties? Amy takes it up a notch, gifting Penny a symbol of their bond that’s on a whole other level. You can’t help but feel Amy’s joy. Yet, we definitely would not want anything of the kind in our homes haunting our living rooms as well as our nightmares. However, Penny soon realizes she’d rather live with the portrait than lose Amy as a friend— although Amy’s confession may give her second thoughts. The painting remains all but forgotten until Amy and Sheldon return it to her when they move into her apartment, and she shacks up with Leonard.

What Penny and Amy moment do you think is peak friendship goals? Let us know in the comments.
