Top 10 Reasons We're Sad Channing Tatum & Jenna Dewan Tatum Broke Up
VOICE OVER: Derek Allen WRITTEN BY: Victoria Carmichael Toltesi
Script written by Victoria Toltesi

They're now broken up but that does't stop us from reminiscing about the times they made us believe in love. For this list we're taking a look back at this couples' cutest times! Remember all those times they owned the red carpet together? Or whenever they would celebrate birthdays? Their wedding was definitely memorable! They went with a wonderfully-whimsical fairy tale theme. We don't mean a subtle theme either… we're talking all out with a castle cake, a peach and ivory ball gown for Jenna, winged flower girls and an abundance of flowers. Now they're no longer together, we definitely can't watch “Step Up” the same way again.

#10: They Were Supportive of Each Other

One of the best things about being in a relationship is knowing that someone is there to have your back and celebrate your successes with you. And whenever Channing or Jenna had a project coming out, the other made sure to promote it in interviews and blast it on their social media. They visit each other on set, go to premieres together, and consistently seem genuinely happy for each other. Even when announcing their separation, they seemed to do it as a team.

#9: They Owned the Red Carpet Together

It’s no secret that Channing and Jenna are beautiful people. Like... insanely beautiful. And when you put them together all dressed up on the red carpet, they will steal the show. This couple is always on-point when it comes to fashion, especially Jenna, who goes for the dramatic with her gowns. Channing is a seasoned pro at working around Jenna’s long gowns, making sure no one trips and that Jenna stays flawless. It hits us in the feels a bit that they may never grace the carpets together anymore!

#8: When They Would Celebrate Birthdays

For some, birthdays are a reminder that you’re getting older, but for Channing and Jenna, each one is an opportunity to celebrate - both each other, and the wisdom they’ve gained over the past year. The two also have a habit of surprising each other on this special day. Sometimes it’s as a simple as going to get pedicures together, other times, it’s elaborate, like when Jenna planned a family RV trip without Channing knowing! Of course, they also make time together for their wedding anniversary. On their 8th anniversary, for example, they went to a wilderness camp in a secluded lakeside cabin. No phones or internet, just a whole lot of quality time.

#7: When They’re Killing It as Parents

As we’ve said, these two are great at supporting each other, and that applies to parenting as well. They clearly love being a part of their daughter’s life and come across as being very committed to making her feel happy and loved. They take her on most of their vacations, like the aforementioned wilderness camp. They even revel in the less glamorous aspects of parenting, like messy makeovers and diaper duty! They also praise each other’s parenting all the time. Just look at this heart-melting post Channing made praising Jenna as a mother! Now that’s the sort of man you want to start a family with.

#6: Their Wedding

On July 11th 2009, in a Malibu vineyard, Jenna and Channing tied the knot in spectacular fashion. They went with a wonderfully-whimsical fairy tale theme. We don’t mean a subtle theme either… we’re talking all out with a castle cake, a peach and ivory ball gown for Jenna, winged flower girls and an abundance of flowers. Serious wedding goals. Our favorite part about the entire thing may just be the cake topper - because a fairy couple in a steamy embrace isn’t something you’d expect at a wedding, but it’s perfect for Channing and Jenna.

#5: Their Ice Bucket Challenge

The ALS ice bucket challenge did amazing things. It brought people together and raised $115 million. It also gave us an adorable glimpse into Channing and Jenna’s relationship. Most people dumped a small bucket of water on their head, but these two exposed themselves to what can only be described as a mini waterfall. Another thing you’ll notice is how they huddle together to brave out the onslaught of icy-cold water. The cutest part is how much they laugh and giggle together during the whole thing.

#4: Every Time They Dressed in Costume

No matter the occasion, Jenna and Channing always seemed ready and willing to dress up. Casually relaxing at home? Boom: perfect time for some mother daughter-mermaid tails. Of course, Halloween is when mom and dad really pull out the stops however, from family costumes with 2 Belles and a Beast, to funny couples costumes like their Cat in a Hat. One of their best costumes was when they dressed as Jack and Sally from “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. Jenna painted herself from head-to-toe in order to be the perfect Sally. Now that’s dedication!

#3: The Birth of Everly

Many parents will tell you that the birth of a child will transform your life. For Channing and Jenna that was certainly the case, and it was clearly a change for the better - which is saying a lot considering how happy they already looked. Everly Elizabeth Maiselle Tatum was born on May 31st, 2013. Two weeks later, the couple released the very first picture of Everly and it’s worth a thousand words. Jenna and Channing look so at peace while looking at their precious bundle, the sun streaming in behind them. Even though they’re separating as a couple, they made it clear that that won’t affect how they raise Everly.

#2: The Lip Sync Battle

This is everything! It has Beyoncé, Paula Abdul and some of the best dancing Lip Sync Battle has ever seen. Both hungry for that belt, neither of these two stars held back. Channing came out hard with his dance, which included a cameo from Beyoncé, and despite Queen-B’s appearance, Jenna may have stolen the show with her “Magic Mike” routine. When she started giving Channing a lap dance, he actually started to blush a little. Just kidding… he completely melted. Of course, in the end, there could be no winner or loser after such show-stopping performances, and they took the belt home together - a hard earned joint victory full of big moments.

#1: We Can Never Watch “Step Up” the Same Way

For our number one spot, we had to go with the one that started it all. Many a fling has started on the sets of Hollywood movies, but in this rare case, it was true love. “Step Up” tells the love story of bad boy Tyler and dance student Nora. As Nora and Tyler fell in love through dance, Jenna and Channing were falling in love through dance right along with them. It’s almost too much to handle. For the film’s 10th anniversary, they even recreated one of the most iconic scenes. Excuse us while we go cry now.
