#10: Finding His Purpose

“Ex-Degenerate”

With the Sekai Taikai tournament back on, it looked like it was finally time for Robby to win it all. However, things took a devastating turn when Robby stepped onto the mat to face Axel Kovacevic. Under the ruthless encouragement of Sensei Wolf, Robby suffers a brutal injury, breaking his leg mid-fight. Despite the setback, Robby remains on the sidelines to support his team, unaware that his performance had already caught the eye of a major promotional company. Yep, when a representative later approaches him and Tory, she offers them both a sponsorship deal. It appears Robby finally found his purpose and a sense of direction.

#9: Taking Out the Scammers

"Long, Long Way from Home"
To say Robby and Johnny's relationship is a rocky one, would be a wee bit of an understatement. When the father and son duo drive to Mexico on a road trip, tensions rise when Robby learns of his dad’s intent to seek out Miguel and return him home. It doesn’t take long for the trip to turn even more sideways however, as a group of scammers attempt to steal from Johnny. With the inevitable fight about to break out, it’s evident Johnny is outnumbered by the thieves. It’s then that Robby chooses to put his emotions aside and step in to fight alongside his dad, kicking some major scammer butt in the process. The beatdown solidified the pair’s shaky alliance.

#8: Mentoring Kenny

“Then Learn Fly”

During a stint in a juvenile correctional facility, Robby became acquainted with Shawn Payne, a fellow inmate who went from being a tormentor to a friend. When Shawn recommends his younger brother, Kenny, seek out Robby to help with his own problem with tormentors, Robby takes the young lad under his wing. Initially, however, Kenny is turned away from the dojo after failing to impress sensei Kreese. But, when Robby visits him at home, he gives his friend’s sibling some sage advice. Recognizing Kenny’s situation and fighting tendencies, Robby offers up useful tips on how to better utilize his skills and quickness. This mentorship exhibited Robby's growth, not to mention softer side, as it contrasts with his own past struggles. As for Kenny, his journey is a bumpy one.

#7: Forgiving His Dad

“The Rise”
As mentioned, the father–son relationship between Johnny and Robby is a shaky one. This mostly stems from Johnny not being present in Robby's life when he was younger. Throughout the majority of the series, the two continuously butt heads, always failing to repair their familial bond. But, with Johnny constantly bettering himself, audiences held out hope that the two would eventually come together. By the end of season 4, they got their wish. Following several missed opportunities and instances of hurt at the All Valley Karate Tournament, the two finally embraced in a genuine attempt to reconcile. It was a truly heartfelt moment that still brings a tear to our eyes

#6: Fighting Miguel at the All Valley Tournament

“Mercy”
In an emotionally charged battle at the All Valley Tournament, an injured Robby faces off against Miguel Diaz in an intense fight to close out the show’s first season. And while Robby doesn’t get the “W,” you could say he walked away with a moral victory. With Miguel attempting to deliberately cause further injury, Robby instead shows his sense of respect. Even with a lack of experience, he doesn’t resort to cheating, instead choosing to fight honorably. Through his efforts, Robby pushes Miguel to his limits and almost gets the win. But even without his hand raised in victory, many saw Robby as the superior contestant that day.

#5: Juvenile Prison Fight

"Miyagi-Do"
Following the shocking school brawl that sent Miguel to the hospital, Robby finds himself in a juvenile correctional facility for his deadly actions. And, feeling betrayed by his former sensei Daniel LaRusso, Robby struggles to adapt to his new surroundings. Making matters worse, he is quickly put at odds with fellow inmate Shawn Payne and his followers. After some constant harassment, Robby finally decides to strike. This leads to an all-out prison brawl that sees Robby prove his strength, earning the respect of Shawn in the process. Robby’s resilience and ability to handle himself in dangerous situations was certainly on full display.

#4: Robby’s Apology

"Extreme Measures"
Robby and Miguel have a complicated history – to say the least. Not only are they linked to Johnny, as he looks to be a father figure to both of them, but the pair are also connected to Sam, in that they each dated the daughter of Daniel LaRusso. Robby severely injuring Miguel put him in crisis however, as the extent of the injury was not his intention. So, when Johnny brings the two together to fight out their issues, the result is a heated confrontation that ends in amends. It’s here that Robby apologizes to Miguel for his actions, showing great maturity amidst all the tangled emotions at play.

#3: Fighting Cobra Kai

“Let’s Begin”
It doesn’t get more badass than this! Having decided to join the Cobra Kai dojo, Robby finds himself in the crosshairs of the other members, as they still see him as the enemy. Robby has an offer for the Cobras however: if any of them land a single hit, he’ll take off. In one of the most memorable fights in the series, Robby goes beast mode, taking on the entire team at once. He’s successful in his efforts too, that is until Tori gets in a cheap shot. Ready to leave, Robby is surprised to learn that he has impressed them, solidifying him a spot in Cobra Kai. It also solidified Robby as one of the show’s best fighters!

#2: Earning His Spot as Captain

“Best of the Best”
With only six spots available for the Sejai Taikai karate tournament in Barcelona, Robby must earn his place on the team. After a series of tests, he easily makes the cut. However, his biggest test comes when he must compete for the honor of being the men’s captain. His opponent? Why that would be his longtime rival turned teammate, Miguel Diaz. It becomes crystal clear that both men have a lot riding on being captain. The world will be watching, and for Robby, this means getting a much-deserved top spot on the podium. So, after another epic showdown with exhilarating techniques on display, Robby gets the final point needed to secure the victory, and his spot as captain!

#1: Fighting Hawk at the All Valley Tournament

“The Rise”
By the end of season 4, Robby is poised to become the champion at the All Valley Karate Tournament. Afterall, he’s received valuable training from the likes of Daniel LaRusso and is now adept in the style of Cobra Kai. He’s clearly the best he’s ever been and it’s finally his time to shine! Standing in his way, however, is Hawk. The two competitors engage in an absolute barnburner of a fight. But, after a series of epic blows by each fighter, it’s Hawk who ultimately gets the win. Despite this, Robby handles the loss incredibly well - no longer placing his value on the competition. He’s gracious in his defeat and is a much better person for it!
