#10: Consecutive Normal Punches
“One-Punch Man” (2015-)

It’s a simple flurry of punches. And that’s about it. What makes them so noteworthy you ask? Well those punches belong to Saitama, the eponymous One Punch Man, and that title is no exaggeration, he can literally destroy anything with a single punch. Monsters, buildings, meteors, you name it. Everything falls before the might of this oddly mellow hero. So what happens when Saitama opts for throwing more than one punch? A complete overkill. Though this maneuverer is more of a gag, and a tad unnecessary, its sheer destructive capability is certainly worthy of praise.

#9: Senbonzakura Kageyoshi
“Bleach” (2004-12)

In the world of Bleach, there are few deadlier things than a Bankai, the ultimate form of a Shinigami’s weapon. There were numerous ones to pick from, but our vote went to the beautiful but lethal Senbonzakura Kageyoshi, owned by the Captain of the Sixth Division himself, Byakuya Kuchiki. By summoning and manipulating a storm of millions upon millions of petals, each as a deadly as a sword’s edge, very few can withstand Byakuya’s razor-sharp barrage.

#8: Dragon Slave
“Slayers” franchise (1995-2009)

While Giga Slave might be the more powerful technique, it’s the signature move of Slayer Lina Inverse that won out in the end. Calling upon the power of daemons, this black magic spell is one of the strongest there is. With the ability to level an entire village and ever so handy when encountering those pesky astral beings. Just make sure you stand back because it’s easy to get burned when this spell is unleashed.

#7: Spirit Gun
“Yu Yu Hakusho” (1992-94)

If you’re going to be a Spirit Detective, then you’re going to need the right weapon for the job. By focusing spirit energy into his finger, Yusuke Urameshi is able to fire a concentrated burst with deadly precision. Though it was originally restricted to a single shot a day, the Spirit Gun gradually evolved as Yusuke became stronger, with its attack and range increasing so greatly that it was able to obliterate most opponents. While it may only be as strong as its user, nothing is handier than a weapon that is quite literally part of your hand.

#6: Ora! Ora! Ora!
“JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” (2012-)

If you ever hear that word being repeatedly yelled in your general direction, then you had better brace yourself for the beating of a lifetime. By summoning his personal stand, Star Platinum, Jotaro Kujo lets hell rain down on his enemies in the form of lightning fast punches that can break bodies, steel and even great white sharks. You’d better not piss off this delinquent, otherwise the you’ll be on the receiving end of this relentless attack. That is unless you can match its speed and precision.

#5: Rasengan
“Naruto” series (2002-)

All the great shinobi of the Hidden Villages have had their own iconic jutsu that they’re most associated with. And none other than Konoha’s number one knucklehead ninja inherited this particular one. Forming a sphere by spiralling chakra constantly, it packs one hell of a punch on contact even when first used by a relatively inexperienced Naruto. Later in the series, Naruto was able to use his creative nature to capitalize on the Rasengan’s power, resulting in some pretty badass ninjutsu that easily blew enemies away!

#4: Shining Finger Sword
“Mobile Fighter G Gundam” (1994-95)

This entry could easily make it in for the infamous, hot-blooded speech alone. By concentrating his raw emotions through to his Gundam and entering the “true super mode”, Domon Kasshu is able to extend the range and power of the original Shining Finger technique to a whole new level. His enemies may often have the larger Gundam, but once they catch a glimpse of the King of Hearts coming at them with this move, the battle is as good as over.

#3: Gomu Gomu No Gatling
“One Piece” (1999-)

Who knew rubber could be used to beat the crap out of people? After devouring the Gomu Gomu Fruit, Monkey D. Luffy’s entire body became completely elasticated, which is handy for a pirate who prefers to use his fists in a brawl. By stretching and punching at a rapid rate, his fists fly like bullets out of a …well, Gatling gun. With each level of Luffy’s training, he is able to improve the capabilities of this attack, creating variations such as the Jet Gatling and Elephant Gatling; which, might we add, is strong enough to flatten almost anything. Though Luffy continues to create new and even wackier techniques, the Gomu Gomu no Gatling has continued to be a staple in his move set.

#2: Giga Drill Break
“Gurren Lagann” (2007)

The technique that made drilling the coolest thing in the cosmos. As a Gunmen with the ability to sprout out drills from any part of its body, you would expect the Gurren Lagann to have some awesome if not bizarre moves under its hatch. But few were expecting it to be quite this awesome. Summoning a drill that’s even bigger that itself and fuelled by massive Spiral Power, it’s almost poetic in how it completely decimates any Gunmen in its path. First used by the original Dai-Gurren Brigade Leader, Kamina, the move was eventually passed down to Simon, who continued to live up to its legacy.

Before our number one lands the final blow, here are few honourable mentions.

#1: Spirit Bomb
“Dragon Ball Z” (1989-96)

Surprised? Our favourite Super Saiyan steals the show again with his ultimate technique. Now don’t get us wrong, while theKamehameha has certainly taken care of its fair share of villains, in terms of spectacle, impact and devastation the Spirit Bomb trumps all. By gathering the energy of all life on the planet, Goku is able to amass a powerful sphere that can crush any evildoer on contact. Although it has been bested in the past, much like Goku himself, it has only gotten stronger with time.
