Ah sisters. Can't live with em', can't seem to get the aim right on the damn rocket launcher to kill em'. Join http://www.WatchMojo.com as we countdown our picks for the Top 10 Video Game Sisters.

This list shows that perfect balance between caring deeply for your sister, needing to let her be close to you... and wanting to hit her with a truck. Now we all have non-familial people we're close to who we treat like family, but we're not including that for this list. So as cool as those squid gals are, and even though they're called the “Squid Sisters”, they're actually cousins. We can still dance with them, though.

Ah sisters. Can’t live with em’, can’t seem to get the aim right on the damn rocket launcher to kill em’. Welcome to WatchMojo.com, and today we’ll be counting down our picks for the Top 10 Video Game Sisters. This list shows that perfect balance between caring deeply for your sister, needing to let her be close to you... and wanting to hit her with a truck. Now we all have non-familial people we’re close to who we treat like family, but we’re not including that for this list. So as cool as those squid gals are, and even though they’re called the “Squid Sisters”, they’re actually cousins. We can still dance with them, though.

#10: Popola and Devola “NieR” (2010)

It’s scary how in sync these two ladies are with one another. Must be a twin thing, right? Or maybe it’s because they’ve actually been alive for thousands of years. These two girls offer major support to NieR throughout his adventure, but then NieR learns that their closeness to him is because they were assigned to do so for reasons that he doesn’t necessarily agree with. This leads to some awfully tragic consequences where the two sisters learn a devastating lesson: just because they don’t have souls doesn’t mean they lack feelings. Twin vengeance is a bitch.

#9: Mio and Mayu Amakura “Fatal Frame II” (2003)

The 10 BEST Video Game Reboots

Sometimes, we do terrible things to our siblings, whether we mean to or not. Case in point: Mio and Mayu. Or should we say Yae and Sae? When Mio and Mayu enter into a haunted village, Mayu becomes possessed by the vengeful spirit of a girl named Sae, who was left behind by her sister, Yae, and sacrificed in a botched ritual. Mio has to face Sae’s hatred head-on while dealing with the village ghosts, crimson butterflies, and her own lingering feelings of guilt over leaving Mayu behind back when they were children.

#8: Sophitia and Cassandra Alexandra “Soul Calibur” series (1996-2014)

When an Olympian god tells you that you’re destined for greatness, you stop baking and start fighting. Such was the case for Sophitia, but as the series went on it was clear that the battles were taking their toll on her. Enter little sister, Cassandra, who tends to run headfirst into battle without stopping to ask questions. However, just like Sophitia, her heart is in the right place as she works to destroy Soul Edge and protect her family, especially since her big sister now has a husband and children.

#7: Lightning and Serah “Final Fantasy XIII” series (2010-14)

Being protective of your sister is good. Being overprotective... that’s another story. It’s both awesome and extremely difficult having an older sister like Lightning. She’s badass, that’s for sure, and does everything in her power to protect Serah. Unfortunately, she takes that “protector” label a bit too far, which causes tension between the two, especially when Serah tells her that she’s become a L’Cie and is engaged to Snow, neither of which Lightning believes. Lightning learns the importance of family the hard way when Serah is crystalized. Lesson of the day: don’t shut out your family when they need your support.

#6: The Intoners “Drakengard 3” (2014)

10 Video Game Characters Who Were DEAD The Whole Time

As much as we care for our sisters, sometimes, they have to die -- in video games, of course. The Intoners are a group of sisters who are worshipped like deities after they defeated a group of raging warlords. This is a great victory, one that, for some reason, the sixth sister -- Zero -- has set out to wreck, making her look like the bitchiest sister ever. Fortunately -- or unfortunately, depending on how you look at things -- she has a fairly good reason for needing to eliminate each of her sisters... and herself.

#5: Kitana and Mileena “Mortal Kombat” series (1992-)

All Shao Kahn wanted was a loyal, obedient daughter. For some reason, he didn’t have that father/daughter connection with Kitana... probably because he killed her family and destroyed her realm. With just a touch of Shang Tsung’s sorcery and the physical attributes found in the Tarkatan race, Mileena was born. Serving as Kitana’s polar opposite, the two sisters are nothing alike and don’t share any sort of bond. Aw, come on Kitana, Mileena just wants to be part of the family. It’s because she eats people’s faces, isn’t it? Yeah, can’t blame you for wanting to stay away.

#4: Koume and Kotake “Legend of Zelda” series (1986-)

It’s nice when sisters can come together... oh, we didn’t mean literally, and we certainly didn’t mean for a boss battle! Get that Master Sword ready! These two twins are fiercely loyal to Ganondorf, and why shouldn’t they be? They are his surrogate mothers, after all. Oh they must be so very proud. He grew up to be such a fine evil threat to all of Hyrule. Despite sharing this maniacal bond that only a mother could love, the two still bicker in the way you’d expect wild birds to do... we mean sisters, sorry, the squawking got us confused.

#3: Samantha and Kaitlin Greenbriar “Gone Home” (2013)

Samantha and Kaitlin never talk directly to each other throughout the entire game, and yet, the strong bond between them is as clear as day with something as simple as journal entries left behind in their old house. We especially feel that bond when Samantha comes out to Kaitlin and not only talks about her feelings for Lonnie, but their parents’ reaction. Due to the first person POV of the game, we can’t help but feel like Samantha is our own little sister, one who we want to love and supportas she takes a big step in her life.

#2: Nina and Anna Williams “Tekken” series (1994-)

Nina Williams: silent, and deadly. Anna Williams: flirty, and cunning. These two women fight about everything, and we do mean everything, ranging from blaming each other for their father’s death, to Anna accusing Nina of stealing one of her shoes. Most of their rivalry comes off as crazy, over-the-top stunts that would feel right at home in a Looney Tunes cartoon. Despite their ruthless disdain for one another, it’s obvious that the two women care... well, let’s rephrase that. They at least enjoy the rivalry they share, whether it’s through a rain of bullets, or utter humiliation. Before we get to our number one pick, let’s take a look at these honorable mentions: The Great Giana Sisters “Giana Sisters” series (1987-) Kat & Ana “WarioWare” series (2003-2013) Stella and Lorette “Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin” (2006)

#1: Maya and Mia Fey “Ace Attorney” series (2001-)

It’s hard losing someone you love, especially someone as close as an older sister. This tragedy is increased tenfold for Maya, who not only finds her sister, Mia’s, dead body, but she’s blamed for her murder. Lucky for her, Mia was the mentor of a certain objection-shouting, finger pointing defense attorney. Just when things begin to look bleak for the case, Maya uses a dash of sisterly love with some good ol’ fashion psychic abilities. With the case solved, Maya becomes Phoenix Wright’s assistant, and is able to help out in cases – Though with the arrival of her cousin Pearl whom share the same abilities, the two are able to reunite in a heartfelt reunion.
