#5: “Grand Theft Auto V Online” (2013)

We understand that grinding can be a pain in the neck, but there are some games that make grinding kind of fun. “GTA V Online” gives you and your buddies plenty of opportunities to make bank, like the Smuggler’s Run or the Heist missions. So, why would you want to suck the fun out of that and cheat? Believe it or not, there are players who spend more time paying for modded accounts with inflated bank accounts than playing the game and having fun. As for the trolls who just run around shooting at other players, they tend to exploit glitches that make their character invisible. Come on, guys, just play the damn game…

#4: “Overwatch” (2016)

Heroes never cheat! Ironically, there’s a lot of players within the Overwatch community that do it anyway. You can get mad at Blizzard all you want, but this isn’t really their fault. Aimbots are tricky to spot, as the way they assist the player is subtle enough for the system to overlook it. Thankfully, Blizzard has been hard at work cleaning up the community. Why not just use the report system you ask? Unfortunately, there are gamers who spam this feature out of spite for players who are legitimately good. In the end, the whole situation feels like we’re dealing with Tusken Raiders.

#3: “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds” (2017)

There is no doubt that PUBG has a lot of problems that need to be fixed…A LOT of problems. On top of dealing with the poor optimization and occasional game crashes, some of the games are filled with dirty cheaters. Such cases include players moving slightly faster than the regular speeds and landing a successful headshot almost every time. We congratulate PUBG for garnering three million concurrent players, but when you’ve had to ban 1.5 million accounts on grounds for cheating, you’ve got a serious problem. A reporting tool has been added in, but only time will tell if it really solves anything.

#2: “Fortnite” (2017)

It's one thing to be cheating with aimbots, assists, or glitch exploits. However, when you’re doing something that results in a developer losing money, you’re in for some legal trouble. Recently, developer Epic Games has been filing lawsuits against a number of players for exploiting a glitch in the game’s economy. This glitch would allow a player to accrue V-bucks (“Fortnite’s” premium currency) without spending any money. Look, guys, money makes the world go ‘round, and when you’re exploiting a glitch for infinite currency, you’re practically robbing the developers. That’s a major no-no.

#1: “Counter-Strike” (2000)

And here we have what is arguably the cornucopia of cheating. Don’t get us wrong; we love “Counter-Strike”! However, there’s no denying that there are WAY too many cheaters on the servers. There are players with aimbots, wall hacks, auto headshots, auto shooting, and even systems that roll all of the previous hacks together! At times, it feels like you can’t find anyone who will play an honest game of skill. Thankfully, Valve is training an A.I. system to detect cheaters. Unfortunately, the system is very complex. So, it’s going to be a little while before “Counter-Strike” starts getting some massive scrubbing. Try to keep your cool until then…
