Firstly, It's from the author of “Gone Girl!” There's a reason “Gone Girl” became such a phenomenon, and it's her ability to tease out a mystery piece by piece. She wrote the novel “Sharp Objects” way back in 2006, long before she was topping the best seller lists. It has some similarities with her more popular work, but is also completely its own story and is just as addictive in its own right. Secondly, It's a story driven by women.
