Grab your 3D maneuvering gear; it’s time to face off with some Titans! Welcome to WatchMojo.com and today we’ll be counting down our picks for the Top 10 Attack on Titan Moments. For this list, we're looking at key sequences the anime series that left us in shock or awe. Some of these moments are pretty violent, so there is mature content involved. And of course, because we are covering the entire series so far, spoiler alert.

After discovering Eren's Titan power, the military sought to use this power to help them seal the breached Trost gate with a giant boulder. Things don’t go exactly as planned as at first Eren wasn't able to control himself in Titan form; attacking his best friend Mikasa (Mee-kah-sa). He eventually succeeds in taking control and, with the help of his allies, seals the gate. The operation cost many lives, but would be the first ever major victory in the Human/Titan war.

When three slave-traders kidnap Mikasa and murder her parents, she learns that the world is kill or be killed. Eren's father discovers the bodies of the two parents and after learning that Mikasa is missing, runs off to find help. Eren decides instead to take matters into his own hands and set out to rescue her himself. Tracking the men back to their hideout, Eren kills two of them before the third man gets the jump on him. Mikasa is forced to kill the man herself, and forming a powerful bond with Eren.

Eren is alive? Eren is… a Titan!? When it seemed like humanity was on the brink of annihilation and Mikasa herself is about to be eaten, this mysterious showed up and saved the day. After the battle it is revealed that Eren was somehow the titan itself, ripping other Titans apart with his over-powering strength. How is this possible? The answer to that has yet to be revealed…

Armin is without a doubt the character no one thought capable of leadership, having lived most of his life in the shadows of Eren and Mikasa. But this moment changed everything as Armin finally showed what he was capable of. Right after Eren is revealed to be a titan his fellow officers want to kill him on the spot. Armin faces off against an army of panicked soldiers and argues that not only would a friendly Titan be a strategic asset, but that killing Eren would be a monstrous act, making humans no better than Titans.

After a mysterious, unique titan variant, an intelligent female has laid waste to the Scout Regiment; Annie was tasked by Armin to help him and Mikasa get Eren to safety. However, Armin suspects that Annie might be a traitor, and leads them into a tunnel where she would be unable to use her Titan form. Despite Armin’s preparation Annie is able to transform into a Titan, revealing herself to be the enemy within.

For over 100 years The Walls kept Titans at bay and the last of the human race in relative safe. That all changed however when a Titan taller than The Walls appeared outside the Shiganshina district and laid waste to it’s gate. It was the first time humanity saw a titan that size, and was a horrific awakening to the human race as a whole. Shortly afterwards another unique variant, the Armored Titan appeared, destroying the district’s inner gate.

##4: The End of Special Operations Squad

In probably the most shocking episode of the series, the elite soldiers of the Special Operations Squad went up against the female titan. At first it seemed like the humans had the upper hand, seemingly blinding her and incapacitating both her arms. Before they could land the killing blow however, the titan opened an eye and turned the tide, killing many of the squad. This of course enraged Eren to the point of activating his own Titan form, leading to a unique variant showdown.

After Annie is revealed to be the female titan, the final showdown begins as Eren transforms himself to fight her for the second time. The clash between the two caused chaos and destruction as Eren struggled to take down Annie once and for all. As she tries to escape by climbing the wall, Mikasa cuts off Titan-Annie’s fingers making her fall and allowing Eren to finish her off. It’s a nail biting action sequence that will never be forgotten.

During the very first episode of the series, the Colossal titan appears, destroying the wall and letting regular titans swarm in. Unfortunately Eren’s family home collapses during the breach and his mother is trapped under some debris. Eren refuses to leave her until a soldier takes him and Mikasa away by force, leaving Eren to watch helplessly from the distance as a Titan eats her alive. This horrific moment sets the tone for the rest of the series, and fuels Eren’s indomitable hatred for the Titans. Before we unveil our top picks, here are a few honorable mentions. Fresh out of boot camp, Eren and the 104th Trainees Squad are the first wave of defense against a surprise Titan attack. Rushing headlong into battle, Eren’s eagerness and thirst for blood gets him mortally wounded, while the rest of his squad is all but wiped out. While Armin, immobilized by fear is about to get eaten by a titan, Eren uses the last of his strength to pull Armin out of the Titan’s jaws, sacrificing himself in the process.
