Top 10 Best Outfits on Dynasty

Top 10 Best Outfits on Dynasty
VOICE OVER: Rebecca Brayton WRITTEN BY: Shaina Higgins
The 80s weren't the best decade for fashion, but we want these outfits from the "Dynasty" reboot. Our countdown includes Alexi's trial ensemble, Fallon's sporty shirt dress, Cristal's wedding jumpsuit, and more!

#10: Cristal’s Blush Suit
“I Exist Only For Me”

During the first season of the show Cristal is working to balance her career as a businesswoman with her new role in the Carrington family. This outfit is a perfect illustration of that duality. The blush color and the silky blouse are soft and feminine. Meanwhile, the lines of the suit, especially when worn with the angle cut jacket, are crisp and clean. It gives the effect of competence, though you can’t miss the touch of luxury in the ruby necklace she pairs with it. We also get to see the unique cut out detail at the back of the blouse. It gives this modern career look just the right hint of sensuality.

#9: Fallon’s Bustier and Plaid Skirt
"Mother? I'm at La Mirage"

Fallon Carrington’s life attracts drama, and so does her wardrobe. But when it’s time to get serious, she’s laser focused. Here she pairs a daring black bustier with a curve hugging plaid maxi skirt, adding a cropped blazer to keep the look business friendly. Whatever venture she’s attending to, she's dressed to slay. This outfit shows a blend of professional savvy and cutting edge instincts, which makes it an ideal representation of Fallon, really. And we have to love the nod to opulence that is her beetle statement earrings. It would be impossible to wear this without feeling sexy, confident and ready to conquer the world. All just another day in the life of Fallon Carrington.

#8: Alexis’ Trial Ensemble
"The Sensational Blake Carrington Trial" & "The Caviar, I Trust, Is Not Burned"

When it comes to making a statement, there’s one name that jumps quickly to mind. That goes double when she’s prepared to make an actual statement. At the trial of her ex-husband, Blake, Alexis shows up in a head-turning double-breasted black jacket with razor sharp white lapels. The accessories game is on point too. The gold buckle of her waist-cinching belt is matched to her necklace and earrings, and then of course there’s her fantastic hat. The whole thing has a slight eighties feel to it, but the flawless tailoring keeps the look modern and chic. Given that Alexis is there to take down her ex, this gives new meaning to the phrase dressed to kill.

#7: Cristal’s Silver Fringe Two Piece
“Rotten Things”

Christmas with the Carringtons comes with all kinds of kinds of sparkle. Cristal ups the ante in her outfit for the family fete. In multiple ways. The slinky fringed skirt and crop top feel a bit like a modern flapper when Cristal’s standing still. Once she gets to dancing though, we see that Latin ballroom influence in the design. This looks so incredible in motion that it’s no wonder other people might start to get jealous. But then, what is the holiday without a little family infighting? Good thing that silver dress goes so well with the other decorations.

#6: Fallon’s Floral Suit
"How Two-Faced Can You Get"

This is a woman who knows how to rock a suit. When it’s time to woo a potential author to her publishing house, Fallon breaks out one of her best. With the bell-bottomed trousers, the gold chain belt, and the long earrings there’s a definite 1970s vibe to this outfit, but nothing about it feels dated. It is, however, a different kind of look for Fallon. The warm yellows and golds, the ruffles at the collar and cuffs, and the print of the navy suit all give her a more approachable feel than usual. Yet the look is still undeniably sleek. She projects a kind of playful confidence. Don’t let the flowers fool you though, she’s still the same person underneath.

#5: Cristal’s Classic Hollywood Evening Look
“Promises You Can’t Keep”

Old school glamor is always, always a good idea. Cristal uses a casino-themed fundraiser as an excuse to bring it in spades. This shimmering white gown with its backless design and boa detail is giving us serious Jean Harlow energy. Could the shape of those earrings be a subtle “Hell’s Angels” nod? Plus that colorsplash of the red flowers in her hair? Stunning. Too bad Cristal seems too preoccupied to properly enjoy herself. Naturally, there’s a lot to deal with in her life. It wouldn’t be a Carrington event without some kind of drama. We would happily deal with that messy world for her though if we got to do it in that drop dead gorgeous gown.

#4: Fallon’s Sporty Shirt Dress
“Crazy Lady”

Fallon doesn’t do casual much, but even when she’s dressed down she looks amazing. This zip front shirt dress is by Gucci, but the clean white with the red and blue athletic stripes gives it the feel of classic American sportswear. Meanwhile, the way those stripes define her waist draws attention to the impeccable fit of the piece. Even on her day off Fallon is giving off boss vibes. She pairs the dress with red boots, and even coordinates her nail polish. A style choice that works doubly well for the Christmas Eve setting of this episode. Even after a day of running around neutralizing a threat to her family, Fallon looks effortlessly put together in the outfit.

#3: Alexis’ Mother of the Groom Gown
“Dead Scratch”

It takes a certain kind of person to wear white to someone else’s wedding. Alexis is not one to curb her style instincts for anyone. On the day of her son’s wedding she is out to steal the show. The black accents on her white gown draw even more attention to her incredible figure. The addition of the cutout details and the plunging neckline add an irresistible sex appeal. The fur stole is a nice touch as well. Not only is this gown an amazing update on the bombshell look, it’s perfect for dodging the kinds of bombshells that we’ve come to expect from our TV soaps.

#2: Cristal’s Wedding Jumpsuit
“I Hardly Recognized You”

Cristal wears several memorable bridal looks on the day of her wedding. While her original gown and the capelet dress she wears to leave the ceremony are both great, the most memorable piece has got to be the jumpsuit she wears to the surprise ceremony. This is a chic alternative to the traditional bridal attire, though we can still see a nod to convention in her veil and in the loose, train-like feature on her wide pant legs. The deep v-neck and strappy open back give this look a sensual quality, and the structure of the belted bodice adds sophistication. The end result is an effortlessly cool and unique bridal style.

#1: Fallon’s Red Tulle Bustier Dress
“That Wicked Stepmother”

If there’s a time to bring the heat it’s definitely to your engagement party. This gorgeous dress combines some classic elements of Fallon’s style. For example, there’s the bustier-style bodice, as well as the red color. The nipped in waist with the full tulle skirt gives her a little bit of the princess quality though, which is just right for a bride-to-be. Fallon coordinates her statement earrings to the dress, as well as her lips and nails. This could be too much matching, but here it all works beautifully. There’s nothing about this outfit that doesn’t scream timeless classic. Of course, we know that any marriage of Fallon’s will be a different kind of fairytale, but she’s up for the challenge.
