Top 10 Naruto and Sasuke Team-Up Fights

#10: Vs. Zabuza Momochi
One of Team 7’s earliest opponents is Zabuza Momochi, a rogue ninja hired to kill their client, a bridge builder named Tazuna. While protecting the old man, Kakashi is imprisoned in water by Zabuza. To rescue their sensei, Naruto and Sasuke decide to put their dislike of each other aside and work together. While the two of them prove no match for Zabuza in a straight up fight, Naruto hits on a clever idea. Sasuke throws several large shuriken at Zabuza, which he either blocks or dodges. However, one of them is Naruto in disguise, and he throws a kunai that Zabuza can’t dodge – unless he frees Kakashi, that is. While they may not beat Zabuza themselves, Kakashi’s victory is only possible because of them.
#9: Vs. Gaara
Gaara begins the series as a murderous psychopath, driven by madness and a lust for blood. He has his sights set on killing Sasuke during the Chunin Exams. But when war breaks out, he is pursued by Sasuke. However, the Uchiha finds himself overmatched when Gaara transforms. Thankfully for him, Naruto arrives to back him up. Naruto goes on to beat Gaara in a spectacular fashion, using everything at his disposal to defeat him, even in his massive monster state. Although Sasuke is mostly worn out by the time Naruto arrives, the fact that both of them battle Gaara here is enough in our books.
#8: Vs. Urashiki Ōtsutsuki
“Boruto” takes the franchise to some strange, yet familiar places. Like the past! While pursuing Urashiki Ōtsutsuki to the past, Boruto and Sasuke team up with a younger Naruto and Jiraiya to battle the crazy man from the Ōtsutsuki clan. Although Sasuke is briefly incapacitated, he returns, unleashing one of his strongest attacks, just as Boruto and his 12-year-old dad use a combo attack of their own; defeating Urashiki for good. It’s an unorthodox team up, but it ends up giving us plenty of spectacle and a fun spin on character dynamics.
#7: Vs. Madara Uchiha
Madara Uchiha is one of the series’ most overpowered characters, easily decimating some of the strongest ninjas in the world. Although he initially proves just as able to defeat Naruto and Sasuke, they come back with newly awakened abilities from the Sage of Six Paths that rival his own. The former team members can see through Madara’s powers and deliver some powerful attacks, both separately and together. Despite proving a match for the Uchiha legend, the duo aren’t able to defeat Madara before he can enact his plan. Despite not having the conclusion we all wanted, the fight is still great while it lasts.
#6: Vs. Orochimaru
While in the second stage of the Chunin Exams, Team 7 is attacked by Orochimaru in disguise. The powerful, serpentine ninja is overwhelmingly more powerful than any of them. Naruto is eaten by one of Orochimaru’s snakes, while Sasuke is practically petrified by their opponent’s strength. Fortunately, Naruto is able to snap his teammate out of it. While Sasuke isn’t able to win, he is able to catch Orochimaru’s interest enough to where he spares Sasuke. Not only is this a great early fight in the series, but it’s also a pivotal one from a story perspective, as it begins Orochimaru’s interest in Sasuke.
#5: Vs. Kaguya Ōtsutsuki
The final-er final opponent of the original “Naruto” franchise, Kaguya Ōtsutsuki may seem like a last-minute addition, but her battle with Naruto and Sasuke is something else. She faces the duo at arguably the peak of their powers, and has overwhelming power of their own. Their fight shifts through dimensions, and Naruto and Sasuke must work together not only to survive, but also to figure out a way to fight back against her. Plus, their attacks against her include some of the most powerful and silly we’ve ever seen from them! It doesn’t hurt that when they seal her away, the two of them essentially are essentially saving the whole world!
#4: Vs. Haku
Zabuza’s young protege, Haku proves just as challenging to Naruto and Sasuke as his master. With Haku able to move at will between the many ice mirrors he surrounds the duo with, Naruto and Sasuke have a hard time fending off the many needles he sends their way. Although Sasuke becomes better able to keep up with Haku’s attacks thanks to the Sharingan, he protects Naruto and seemingly dies. This causes Naruto to rage and use the Nine-Tailed Fox’s chakra for the first time, overpowering Haku and nearly killing him. While Haku ultimately dies another way and Sasuke is naturally still alive, the fight is a crucial bonding moment for the two rivals.
#3: Vs. Obito Uchiha
Although practically everyone in the series, living and dead, fights against Obito Uchiha, one of the final war’s architects, Naruto and Sasuke fighting against him together is still a major highlight. After Obito absorbs the Ten-Tails, he proves quite the formidable opponent. However, Naruto and Sasuke using their strongest forms (at this point), to attack him together, combining not only their best techniques, but also their forms into even stronger and cooler forms! Together, they’re able to give Obito enough trouble to where everyone else can drain his power. The awesome scale of their battle and the team-up moves are almost unmatched in the franchise. Almost.
#2: Vs. Jigen
A lot of people sleep on “Boruto,” and that’s a shame, because they’re missing out on fights like this! Jigen is the madman/father figure to Kawaki and when he tries to abduct his “son,” whom Naruto is trying to mentor, the Hokage won’t let it stand. Drawn into another dimension, Naruto is initially caught off guard and appears at a disadvantage. Then Sasuke arrives to back him up. Although Jigen’s shrinking and absorption abilities and incredible speed prove enough to defeat and seal the duo it’s still a spectacular fight. The fluid animation, tag team choreography, and big techniques make it a ton of fun to watch, even if the outcome is less than ideal.
#1: Vs. Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki
This one goes to 11! For practically half an episode, Naruto and Sasuke battle Momoshiki after he tries to absorb Naruto’s chakra. The animation is gorgeous. The choreography is outstanding. There’s big techniques and clever moves and even a callback to their fight with Zabuza. Best of all, there’s very little to break up the action! It’s one of the best “Naruto” fights period, and the fact that it’s Naruto and Sasuke working together is icing on an already delicious cake! While Boruto is ultimately one the one to finish Momoshiki off, he never could have done it if his dad, his sensei, and the animators, didn’t go all out.
