Top 10 Over the Top Deaths in Deadpool

Top 10 Over the Top Deaths in Deadpool
VOICE OVER: Rebecca Brayton
These wild Deadpool deaths are not for the faint of heart. Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the Top 10 Most Ridiculous Deaths in Deadpool. Our countdown of the over-the-top deaths in the "Deadpool" franchise includes "Deadpool", "Deadpool 2", and “Deadpool & Wolverine”!

#10: Ajax’s Henchmen

“Deadpool” (2016)

Deadpool certainly made a bloody impression in the opening scene of his first full cinematic outing. Here, he ambushes Ajax’s convoy on an expressway, with one of the very first deaths being a henchman going straight into a sign post. After realizing he only has a few bullets left, Deadpool makes a game of his death dealing, counting them one by one. Even when he has only one bullet remaining, he effortlessly manages to take out three enemies at once. In just a short amount of time, Deadpool proved he wasn’t your average hero.

#9: Sabretooth

“Deadpool & Wolverine” (2024)

In all forms of Marvel media, Wolverine and Sabretooth have a long storied past as each other's eternal enemy, that has spanned decades. So we were just as hyped as Deadpool when Sabretooth made his appearance in the Void as one of Cassandra Nova’s henchmen. We were prepared for a long drawn out fight scene between these alternate half-brothers, but what we got was shocking to say the least. With just one slice, Wolverine puts down his arch-nemesis for good, making a huge statement to the other henchmen.

#8: Ajax

“Deadpool” (2016)

As the man who cruelly tricked him into thinking he was getting life saving medicine, only to completely disfigure him, you could perhaps argue that Wade was well within his right to kill Ajax. After battling it out against Deadpool and losing, the mutant found himself looking right down the barrel of his gun. The noble Colossus proceeds to give a fine speech on heroism in order to spare his life, but it’s all for naught. We have to give Colossus points for trying, but did he really think he could convince Deadpool of all people?

#7: Wade Wilson

“Deadpool 2” (2018)

Released all the way back in 2009, one of the biggest criticisms from fans about “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” was its odd depiction of the Regenerating Degenerate himself, Deadpool. And honestly who can blame them after they sewed his mouth shut and made him shoot laser beams out of his eyes. Thankfully at the end of “Deadpool 2,” the real Wade corrects this stain in Deadpool history by interrupting the original scene and taking down this abomination himself, shocking both us and Wolverine! This isn’t the only thing he corrects as things get awfully meta when he prevents Ryan Reynolds from starring in the awful Green Lantern movie, how else, but by killing him.

#6: Cassandra Nova

“Deadpool & Wolverine” (2024)

As the twin sister of Charles Xavier, Cassandra Nova was an absolute force to be reckoned with. We all thought that things were settled with the Omega-Level mutant when she helped Deadpool and Wolverine get out of the void. But things went south once she found out that the TVA and Paradox broke their agreement. After making her way to Earth-10005, Nova attempts to use the Time Ripper to eradicate all realities within the universe except for the Void. After arguing who should make the heroic sacrifice to stop her, both Wade and Logan team up, causing Nova to be instantly atomized. The fact that Madonna’s “Like a prayer” dramatically plays during this scene makes it even more over the top!

#5: Headmaster

“Deadpool 2” (2018)

As the main antagonist of “Deadpool 2,” Headmaster is directly responsible for making Russell go down a dark path, leading him to killing Cable's family in the future. In order to prevent all of this from happening, Deadpool and his allies go to the orphanage to prevent Russell from killing the Headmaster. After a noble sacrifice, Deadpool convinces Russell not to put an end to his abuser, consequently saving Cable's family. We were starting to think that Headmaster was somehow going to be spared his pathetic life, but out of nowhere he’s suddenly run over by Wade’s taxi-driving pal, Dopinder – ironic, considering the fact that he so desperately wanted to be on the team yet was denied.

#4: TVA Agents

“Deadpool & Wolverine” (2024)

When it was announced that Hugh Jackman would return to play as Wolverine, there was concern amongst some fans that it would tarnish his iconic death scene at the end of 2017’s “Logan.” Of course, Deadpool being who he is, addresses this concern pretty early on in the film, in the wildest way imaginable. After digging out Wolverine’s grave, he proceeds to use his skeletal remains as a makeshift weapon against the TVA Agents. With Logan’s skeleton being made out of pure adamantium, it results in some pretty gruesome deaths, but this is nothing compared to the levels of violence displayed once Deadpool utilizes Wolverine’s claws.

#3: Johnny Storm

“Deadpool & Wolverine” (2024)

Chris Evans' return to the MCU was shocking in more ways than one. Alongside Deadpool, we all thought that he was about to once again wield his iconic red, white and blue shield. But as it turned out he was actually reprising his role as the Human Torch from the original Fantastic Four movies. Sadly, his time in the movie was pretty brief, as when the crew confronts Cassandra Nova, Deadpool can’t help but live up to his moniker of “Merc with a mouth.” After ratting out Johnny, revealing all the awful things he said about her, Cassandra promptly rips his skin clean off. Now you’d wonder why on earth Deadpool would do such a thing, but as the after credits show, Johnny should have been more careful with his words!

#2: Nicepool

“Deadpool & Wolverine” (2024)

From the moment Nicepool showed up, you could sense a hint of jealousy from Deadpool, which was heightened by the fact that he wanted his gold-plated handguns and adorable pooch Dogpool. When confronted by the Deadpool corps, Wade uses Nicepool as a human shield, thinking that he has regenerative abilities. As it turns out, this friendly Deadpool variant has no such powers and is in fact a normal human. This doesn’t stop Deadpool from using him as a shield once again, though, taking in a ridiculous amount of bullets until his dashing good looks are no more.

#1: X-Force

“Deadpool 2” (2018)

In order to free Russel and protect him from the time traveling Cable, Deadpool puts together a strike team, known as X-Force. While the young mutant is being transferred in a prison convoy, the newly formed squad launches an assault by parachuting in. Sadly, most of the group meets their demise one by one in the most unfortunately weird ways possible until all that’s left is Domino and Deadpool himself. It’s always good for a newly formed superhero team to make a dramatic entrance, but it’s safe to say they didn’t quite nail the landing with this one.
