That’s what some fans at Universal Studios were treated to when they were photobombed by mascot versions of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jimmy Fallon. The segment began as a contest between the two to see who could score the most high fives, hugs and selfies. They then stunned unsuspecting guests by posing as their mascots, before revealing their true identities. While most reacted with pure astonishment, the true highlight came when one man, who was a lifelong fan of The Rock, broke down in tears. It wouldn’t be the last time Johnson would move a grown man to tears; he once gifted a Navy veteran his own custom truck.

After being diagnosed with meningitis the previous year, Ashley missed out on having the quinceañera she wanted. Little did she know, she would eventually get the quinceañera she needed. As part of the short-lived Fox series “Knock Knock Live,” pop star Justin Bieber showed up to her doorstep with an armful of dresses and an incredible surprise. Galaz was invited to a Haus Laboratories makeup session with artist Sarah Tanno, and brought along a heartfelt letter he had written for Gaga. As he read it aloud, he got the surprise of a lifetime when Gaga appeared from behind and wrapped him in a warm embrace. She let him finish reading, then thanked him for reminding her why she chose to make music. Of course, they bonded over their love of makeup, and Galaz even got his face painted by Gaga. It was a heartwarming moment for both fan and artist to reflect on their respective journeys.

22-year-old Selena Gomez megafan Sophie Saunders had been to all of the singer’s shows in Australia, and even once made the long trip to the U.S. to see her live. So in 2016, Gomez decided to return the favor. She teamed up with Australian radio station KIIS 1065 to surprise Saunders by paying her a visit in her own home. Saunders had been told to record a clip singing one of Gomez’s songs, which they would send to the singer. However, while making the video, Gomez snuck into her house and entered the room, much to Saunders’ utter astonishment. It was the ultimate videobomb—one that she will likely never forget.

Many fans dream of having their favorite artist sing at their wedding. While this Taylor Swift superfan didn’t quite get that, she got the next best thing. In 2014, while going through her fan mail, Swift came across an invite from Gena Gabrielle for her wedding in Columbus, Ohio. On screen, Tony Stark is a billionaire inventor and philanthropist. In real life, the actor who plays him has proven to be equally charitable, and just as much of a superhero. In 2015, Robert Downey Jr. joined forces with Limbitless Solutions, an engineering group that creates robotic arms using 3D printing, to surprise a young fan named Alex Pring. Pring, who was born with a partially developed right arm, received a custom prosthetic arm modeled after the Iron Man suit, for free. To make the moment unforgettable, Downey even wore part of his own Iron Man suit, so they could compare their “superhero” arms. Looks like there’s a new Iron Man in town.
