Top 10 Yellow Power Rangers

Top 10 Yellow Power Rangers
VOICE OVER: Phoebe de Jeu WRITTEN BY: Joey Turner
Every superhero team needs a source of morale, and our favorites are wearing yellow. Welcome to WatchMojo.com, and today we're counting down our picks for the Top 10 Yellow Power Rangers.

For this list, we're looking at some of the best Rangers with one of the most flexible positions on any team. They're usually the morale boosters, and most of the time they're female; but every now and then, they'll shake up their roles -either as comic reliefs, different genders, ...or even acting as second-in-command.

#10: Elizabeth "Z" Delgado “Power Rangers S.P.D.” (2005)

When we first met Z, she was merely a thief with the ability to create clones of herself; she worked with Jack to steal supplies and give them to the homeless… but she wanted to do some good on a much bigger scale. She gets her chance when offered a spot as the B-Squad S.P.D. Yellow Ranger, and takes it without hesitation. During her childhood, the other kids constantly ridiculed her because of her powers; since then, she only wants to stand up for the little guy who’s had to endure what she’s been through. While Jack leaves S.P.D. in the finale, Z sticks around so that she can continue helping those who can’t help themselves.

#9: Lily Chilman “Power Rangers Jungle Fury” (2008)

She’s the heart of the team with the speed of a cheetah. Lily was a senior at the Pai Zhuq Academy, (Pronounced: Pie sw-ahhhr) and one of the three chosen to become Jungle Fury Rangers. Along with having excellent rhythm, Lily is the nicest Ranger on the team – always wanting to reach out to others, and acting as a peacemaker –but she can also be very tenacious if needed. Some might call her a goody-goody because of her kindness, and her friendliness doesn’t ALWAYS end in her favor, but her compassion and martial art skills are what make her a great Ranger –and the lady that Theo pines for all season.

#8: Kira Ford “Power Rangers Dino Thunder” (2004)

Kira was reluctant to get involved with the Dino Gems, but she came around eventually and joined her new friends as the Yellow Dino Thunder Ranger. When she isn’t using her voice to blast the baddies back, she can usually be heard singing and practicing her music –she could make it big if she stays true to herself. Underneath her tough girl exterior lays a creative, passionate soul who tries to give others the benefit of the doubt –including her crush, Trent, during his evil White Ranger days. After finally beating Mesogog, Kira moved on to get a leg up in her music career… but she COULD make a comeback at anytime.

#7: Katie Walker “Power Rangers Time Force” (2001)

Katie is a member of Jen’s Time Force squad gone back in time to capture Ransik –where she is dubbed the Yellow Time Force Ranger. She’s gifted with unnatural strength –we pity ANYONE who tries to arm-wrestle her- and a big heart - she’s very protective of Trip, and is VERY emotionally open. While she’s committed to being a Ranger, she has fears of what being in the past can do to the future… especially HER future. Not knowing the future IS terrifying, but Katie just has to have faith that they WILL make it back soon –and with her on the team, it’s a pretty safe bet.

#6: Trini Kwan “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” (1993-95)

Trini was the compassionate tomboy of the OG team, and close friends with Billy and Kimberly –she was usually the first one to translate Billy’s tech talk. She’s faced many obstacles in her Ranger career – learning a difficult Kung Fu style and overcoming her fear of heights. But, like any great Yellow Ranger, she powered through any task that came her way. When she, Jason, and Zack were chosen to attend the World Peace Summit, Trini passed on her powers to Aisha, who carried on her legacy with pride. Sadly, this would be the last we see of Trini, as her actress, Thuy Trang, died in a tragic car accident in 2001.

#5: Maya “Power Rangers Lost Galaxy” (1999)

Before her planet, Mirinoi, was frozen in stone, Maya was chosen to wield the power of the Yellow Quasar Saber. As the team’s empath, Maya is in tune with all of nature and can communicate with animals –especially the Galactabeasts. Unfortunately due to being raised in the jungle, she’s a fish out of water in modern day environments and customs; but luckily, she has friends like Kendrix and the others to help her out. She is also a skilled fighter who refuses to back down from any challenge, no matter the challenge; and she remains optimistic that one day, she’ll be able to return to a fully restored Mirinoi again.

#4: Charlie "Chip" Thorn “Power Rangers Mystic Force” (2006)

Even as a child, Chip loved superheroes and magic –he can usually be seen wearing a cape and goofing around the Rock Porium; so naturally, becoming a Power Ranger is like a dream come true to him. Despite his eccentric nature, Chip’s fantasy knowledge has helped him solve issues that even stumped the others –such as how to spot a vampire. He fully embraces his role as a hero – as he wants to learn all he can about magic, and he’ll rush in to do the right thing for his world and his friends –plus, he LOVES the cape. With the right training, Chip would make a great knight –he’s already enthusiastic and chivalrous enough.

#3: Waldo "Dustin" Brooks “Power Rangers Ninja Storm” (2003)

This “dudebro” (Dude-bro) is the first male Yellow Ranger … ok the first HUMAN male Yellow Ranger. AND the first member of his team to get the morph down. Dustin is a motocross ace, and one of the three misfit ninja students chosen to become the Wind Rangers. He may seem like an airheaded comic book geek, and the thrill of being a Power Ranger CAN go to his head, but he’s more than worthy of the title. Dustin has a very naïve, trusting personality, and while there are those who would take advantage of that, it only means that he tries to look for the best in everyone –even if it’s not clearly shown.

#2: Summer Landsdown “Power Rangers RPM” (2009)

Before Venjix’s reign, Summer was a spoiled rich girl looking out only for herself –most of the blame came from her inattentive parents. When almost everyone abandoned her, except her butler who gave his life for hers, she ultimately changes her outlook and risks her own life to save Scott whom she didn’t even know at the time, so It’s no wonder she was chosen to be Ranger Yellow. She also likes to give people the benefit of the doubt – which prompts her and Dillon’s budding relationship. The world ending brought out the best of Summer, and with Venjix gone, she plans to help Dillon pick up the pieces and help the world start again. … Barring the outside chance she may become a zombie detective. (That’s a reference to her actress Rose McIver, who’s most known for her role on iZombie)

Before we unveil our number one pick, here are a few honorable mentions.

Tanya Sloan

“Power Rangers Zeo” (1996) & “Power Rangers Turbo” (1997)

Kelsey Winslow

“Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue” (2000)

Ashley Hammond

“Power Rangers Turbo” (1997) & “Power Rangers In Space” (1998)

#1: Taylor Earhardt “Power Rangers Wild Force” (2002)

Before she became a Power Ranger, Taylor was a member of the Air Force who had a run-in with the Eagle Wildzord and discovered the Animarium –earning her wings as the Yellow Wild Force Ranger. She WAS the leader of the team, and the very first Yellow Ranger to hold such a rank, until Cole came around. The two clashed a little over their different leadership tactics, but Taylor learned to respect Cole and became an even better second-in-command. She’s had her shortcomings, and may seem cold given her military background, but she’s definitely the Yellow Ranger you’ll want to have in your corner to take charge and protect the Earth. Plus we’d totally ship her and Eric.
