Learning to drive is a right of passage for many young adults. But for some, it’s a total nightmare! Take Belle Thorne for example. The Florida native chose not to get her license when she was younger because she was scared of getting behind the wheel. Part of this was due to the fact that her father died in a motorcycle accident when she was just 9 years old. Thorne admits that she didn’t feel she was mature enough to handle the responsibilities of being a driver. This changed, however, in 2015 when she conquered her fear of driving once and for all and earned her license.

When most people say that they have “tons of pets” we tend to assume that they have a dog and a cat…with perhaps a gerbil thrown in for good measure. However, when Bella Thorne says it she means it! The former Disney star is the proud owner of two dogs – one of which is a wolf-hybrid – six cats, one turtle, a hedgehog, and a frog. It would appear that this singer / actress is another animal away from owning a farm! One wonders how she manages to take care of all of them while balancing her burgeoning career. At least when she comes home from a bad day she’s greeted by all those little faces!

#3: She’s a Writer

Some people get all the talent! Not only is Bella Thorne an established actress and singer but she has also written three novels. The books - “Autumn Falls”, “Autumn’s Kiss” and “Autumn’s Wish” - are part of a series and are about the adventures of a young girl named Autumn who is constantly struggling to come to terms with her dyslexia, a subject Thorne is all too well versed in… The novels are heavily influenced by Thorne’s own life, so if you’re looking for a fun read with a little personality these books might just be for you!

#2: Spanish Was Her First Language

While it would be easy to assume that Thorne is of completely Irish heritage thanks to her trademark orange hair, it just isn't so. In fact, her heritage is quite the cultural melting pot. The young starlet is of Cuban, Italian and Irish decent and growing up her first language was Spanish. Both of her parent’s were native Spanish speakers and as such Thorne picked up the language in her youth. However, she stopped speaking it when she entered elementary school as a way of learning English. Nowadays Thorne has all but lost her ability to speak Spanish, but claims that she has no problem understanding it.

Thornehas been very outspoken about her struggles with dyslexia, claiming she had a difficult time in school because of it. Over the years she managed to learn more about the disorder and now feels that it has benefited her in a lot of ways.
