#10: The Puzzling Mr. Pumpkins

Top 20 TV Scenes That Became Memes

“Saturday Night Live” (1975-) We still have questions about this meme. In 2016, “SNL” aired a sketch where a couple takes a Halloween elevator ride with frightening characters on each floor. The scares grow more intense...until they meet Tom Hanks's David S. Pumpkins, who stands between two dancing skeletons before asking something truly frightening. Each appearance of Pumpkins makes the couple more confused but drives the laughs a little harder. Although no one can explain why he resonates with so many people, sold out Halloween costumes that year and the character’s return in a 2017 episode shows that the answer to all of our questions is simply Pumpkins.

Top 10 Horribly Awkward TV Cameos

“Curb Your Enthusiasm” (2000-) Did you ever have an awkward moment and wish there was a song that could soundtrack the essence of that feeling? Well, Larry David's got a melody just for you! On “Curb”, Larry frequently gets himself into a variety of awkward situations. The only constant to his misfortunes is the show's catchy theme kicking in to put an amusing angle onto the most uneasy of his moments. If you’re looking to highlight an uncomfortable turn in a TV show or make a cringe-worthy video into comedy, add the whimsical tune of the main series’ song and watch as unpleasant and uncomfortable encounters become unbearably funny.

#8: Bieber’s Last Stand

“CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” (2000-15) You don’t have to look too hard to find a few non-Beliebers. That feeling is likely what turned a short scene from “CSI” into a viral sensation. Bieber starred as the troubled Jason, a boy who targets the police with bombs. Though he evades the cops for a while, they catch up to him and he is shot and killed in a highway standoff. After the episode aired, the shooting scene was re-edited, parodied and even combined with other memes to turn the dramatic moment into pure slapstick. No matter which one you find funniest, you should probably keep it away from any true Beliebers.

#7: That is False

“The Office” (2005-13) There’s always that one co-worker in the office who always has to be right. On “The Office”, that would be Dwight Schrute. Dwight told many a coworker they were wrong, but only one wrong-bomb became iconic. Tearfully claiming to miss Jim, Dwight interrupts himself to declare the situation, “False!” Whether it’s his rapid delivery of the word false or the sheer bluntness, his method of calling something out as wrong and immediately correcting it became a popular trend. Even common sayings and inspirational quotes are fair game. So, fact-check that article before posting it, otherwise you may see Dwight’s face creeping up in the comments.

#6: A Teary Don Draper

Top 10 Hilarious Simpsons Memes

“Mad Men” (2007-15) When people think of Don Draper from “Mad Men”, they visualize a suave man who handles his problems with a stiff drink. That’s why it’s funny to see a picture of him as a crying mess. The screenshot comes from an episode where he copes with the news someone close to him has passed away. Although the acting was praised, the face he made was instantly dubbed the “sad don Draper” meme. When inserted into sad scenes from other movies and TV shows, Don’s dreary visage makes things just seem to hurt a little less.

#5: The Mind-Blowing Universe

Top 10 Hilarious Game of Thrones Memes

“Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!” (2007-10) The vastness of the universe has never been so meme-worthy. Given their trippy nature, a “Tim and Eric” sketch was bound to produce some meme-able imagery. While talking about the fate of the cosmos in the ‘Universe’ episode, Dr. Jimes Tooper describes his feelings by making odd noises as totally realistic explosions appear around his head. It didn’t take eons for his spacey monologue to evolve into the “mind blown meme”, which internet denizens can use to react to shocking information. From crazy tv fan theories to everyday observations, when words fail, Tooper’s motions can say everything you need.

#4: Where Is That Sauce?

“Hell’s Kitchen” (2005-) To survive “Hell’s Kitchen”, a chef needs to be quick, make sure all their dishes are properly cooked and never, ever lose track of the sauce. During a dinner service in season 2, Gordon Ramsay yells at frantic chefs who made the culinary crime of not having lamb sauce ready with a food order. Ramsay’s frustrated screams of “where is the lamb sauce?” were delicious additions to the internet. The clip’s winning recipe was altered by fans who added glowing eyes, put Ramsay in new settings, and generally made him obsessed with locating the oh so precious dressing.

#3: Chemistry is Great

“Breaking Bad” (2008-13) Science can be truly awesome, and no one expresses their love for the subject quite like Jesse Pinkman. When his former chemistry teacher, Walter White, skips the traditional homework assignment and gives a short lecture about a new way to cook meth, an ecstatic Jesse shows his appreciation for chemistry with a short but sweet phrase. No one will ever forget that Walter White is the one who knocks, but there’s just something about Jesse’s pure enthusiasm that’s made “yeah, science!” an enduring way for online communities to show excitement for new scientific breakthroughs… that are hopefully not related to meth.

#2: The Pepe Conspiracy

Top 10 Hilarious Keeping Up with the Kardashians Memes

“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” (2005-) Of course it would be “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” that would give us a perfect picture of insanity. While working in a mailroom, the illiterate Charlie keeps trying to deliver mail to ‘Pepe Silvia’ but can’t find him. Convinced he’s found a company wide conspiracy, Charlie creates a collage of letters complete with lots of red tape. The image of him standing in front of his wall of ravings now represents that someone has gone completely off the deep end while explaining something, like the poor Charlie...wait. Charlie. Played by Charlie Day. Day? Dayman... this runs deeper than we thought. Before we unveil our top pick, here are some honorable mentions: So Hurtful You Got Ranch A Good Cry

#1: Dad Jokes with Coral

Top 10 Memes From Cartoons

“The Walking Dead” (2010-) This zombified drama follows the tale of Rick Grimes and his son Carl as they struggle to survive in a world full of the undead. When Carl’s mother dies while giving birth, all a distraught Rick can manage to say is “no”, over and over again. Fans took this harrowing scene...and immediately turned it into a meme. It started as a way for Rick to overreact to bad news, but later morphed into a vehicle for people to display their best dad jokes. There aren’t many laughs in an apocalypse, but this meme shows that even in the worst situations, humor isn’t ... dead. Get it?
