VOICE OVER: Ty Richardson WRITTEN BY: Ty Richardson
The world of Night City is vast, filled with all manner of distractions so we would forgive you for overlooking some of the city's biggest secrets. In this video we'll be highlighting some hidden items, details, and missions that you might've missed entirely on your first visit to Night City. For this list, we'll be looking at the “smart” gun Skippy, hidden endings and missions, and nods to some 4th wall breaking easter eggs!

Arasaka Tower 3D

In “Cyberpunk’s” 2.0 patch, we saw the addition of a new mini-game you probably passed by without ever realizing it. Deep in the protein farm outside of Night City sits a lone arcade machine called “Arasaka Tower 3D”. Yes, it is a tribute to “DOOM”, and it sees you playing as Johnny Silverhand escaping Arasaka Tower before the bomb goes off. Sure, you can play this and walk away satisfied. But there’s something funky about those QR codes everywhere. Plug in the right numbers in the right places at the right times, and maybe you’ll nab yourself a sweet prize.

Cyberware Discount

With every Ripperdoc having their own inventory, it can be difficult tracking down who has what for a decent price. However, there is one Ripperdoc in Watson you can intimidate for a permanent discount of their wares. Charles Bucks is up to some shady business, and you can tell from his pricey selection. Once you’ve finished the second act of the game, you can investigate around Charles’s store to find a locked door. Take down every Scav you see, and you’ll have your evidence of his scam of a business. Now, take that twenty percent discount and nab yourself some chrome!

While players know Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand, most folks know him for the action film franchise, “John Wick”. Well, the “Phantom Liberty” expansion came with a special Easter egg to commemorate Reeves’s biggest role ever. Head to Dogtown and look for the EBM Petrochem Stadium’s weapon shop. In the very back sits a gun case with the label “For Mr. Wick”. The case seems to have already been opened, and even Johnny knows the kind of trouble Night City might be facing.

Skippy

Many veteran players will know this one already, but if this is your first time playing “Cyberpunk 2077”, you need to look for this weapon as soon as you can. Tucked in one of Night City’s shady alleyways is an AI-powered pistol called Skippy. This gun is fully loaded with lethality and sass, and he will make you feel about as malicious as a “Counter-Strike” hacker. Very little aiming is required when using him. Just make sure you choose the mode you don’t want him on because after a certain number of kills, he will permanently switch to the other mode.

It’s wild to see “The Witcher” become bigger than it was even back in 2015 when “The Witcher III” exploded in popularity. So, if you’re a fan of the Netflix series, you probably got some joy seeing the Roach Race arcade cabinets. Well, the 2.0 update added another neat Easter egg for fans. Head to a phone booth and dial the number 907-755-5202. If entered correctly, you’ll hear a familiar theme emit from the phone. Now, step back and question why you’re using a pay phone in the year 2077.

It isn’t uncommon for developers to put themselves in their games. It saves on resources for additional actors, and it immortalizes them within their work. For CD Projekt co-founders Marcin Iwinski and Michal Kicinski, they got slightly bigger roles than just NPCs. In Dogtown, you’ll find the two have opened up a braindance store, and every product is a play-on-words based on the studio’s various games. Really, why would you play “Baldur’s Gate” or “Gwent” when you could be playing “Farmer’s Mate” and “Rent” instead?

Of course, the addition of “Phantom Liberty” got many excited enough to want to jump into “Cyberpunk 2077”. Normally, expansions give you all the time you need before you feel ready to start their stories. However, “Cyberpunk 2077” gives you a more restricted window to answer its call. Sure, you can go and attempt to save the President…but what if you didn’t? What if you kept playing and thought, “Eh, I’ll do this after I destroy Arasaka”? Well, you’ll get a nasty call from Songbird, and you will be locked out of the “Phantom Liberty” story for the remainder of the game.

“Cyberpunk: Edgerunners” was such a fantastic anime. Sucks that it was so short-lived, but Night City is such a hopeless place to be in that the deaths of David, Rebecca, Kiwi, and the others were expected. But how does it tie into the game outside of setting? Well, you can actually visit their graves. And from the memorials written on the wall, one can tell they were written by Lucy herself. Here’s hoping our Moon queen has found a better life for herself.

Chances are you went to every Cyberpsycho sighting, every NCPD dispatch call, and every side mission prominently displayed on the map. But guess what - you haven’t completed the game like you might have thought. That’s right! “Cyberpunk 2077” is hiding a hearty helping of secret side missions that you are never ever told about. You really have to go out of your way to discover these for yourself, and some of the methods to access them are very unorthodox. Perhaps we’ll cover all of them in a future video?

A Secret Ending

Sure, you probably went and experienced all four endings to see every possible ending for Johnny and V. But did you know there is actually a secret fifth ending? Probably not as you have to make very specific decisions in order for it to be available. While in the oilfields with Johnny, you will need to pick three specific dialogue choices in order to increase your affinity with him. Then, just before the assault on Arasaka, Misty will ask you what your plan is. Don’t make a choice for a few minutes, and Johnny will eventually offer you another option where V takes on Arasaka by himself. Succeed, and you will get to see this secret ending. Fail and die in combat, and you’ll see an ending significantly more depressing than the others. Know any other secrets in “Cyberpunk 2077”? Did it make our list?
