Everything changes with time, but not our love for this movie! Welcome to MsMojo, and today we’ll be counting down our picks for the Top 10 “She’s the Man” Cast: Where Are They Now?   For this list, we’ll be looking at various actors from the 2006 teen romantic comedy “She’s the Man” to see where life has taken them in the years since.

#10: James Snyder

To fans of the film, James Snyder will likely always be remembered as jealous classmate Malcolm Festes, who saw through Viola’s disguise and tried to use it against her. In the years following the film’s release, however, Snyder has taken on a wide range of roles - including heroic ones. He’s had appearances in TV series like “Cold Case”, “CSI”, “Blue Bloods” and “The Good Wife”, as well as in numerous short films. His greatest success, however, has been on the stage! In 2008, Snyder originated the starring role of Wade Walker on Broadway in the stage adaptation of “Cry-Baby”. In 2019, he also took over the lead role of Harry Potter in the Broadway production of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”.

#9: David Cross

Before appearing as principal Horatio Gold, David Cross was already well-established as a comedian and actor. Among his most notable roles is that of Dr. Tobias Fünke on “Arrested Development”. And although the show was originally cancelled the same year that “She’s the Man”  came out, he’s since returned for new seasons in 2013 and 2018-2019 respectively. But honestly, he’s done too many things to list here! Also a producer, writer and director, Cross has created a number of original shows, including “The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret” and the 2018 miniseries, “Bliss”. In 2012 he married actress Amber Tamblyn and, in 2017, they welcomed their first child.

#8: Jonathan Sadowski

Without the help of her friend and hair-dresser Paul Antonio, Viola likely never would have stood a chance at passing for her brother. While essential to the plot, Antonio’s screen time is limited, but the powers that be in Hollywood clearly saw Sadowski’s potential nonetheless.  Following the release of “She’s the Man”, he appeared in a number of high profile films like “Live Free or Die Hard” and the 2009 remake of “Friday the 13th”. Television, however, is where he’s gone on to make the biggest impact. Sadowski starred in the short-lived series “S#*! My Dad Says” opposite William Shatner, before really leaving his mark on the medium alongside Emily Osment with the Freeform series “Young & Hungry” which ran for 5 seasons.

#7: Brandon Jay McLaren

Another minor character who nonetheless makes a big impression, Toby is a friend of Duke’s who gets an unconventional love story of his own. Best known as a Power Ranger before the film, he’s also kept busy in the years since he played Toby. McLaren has appeared in numerous B-list horror movies, but in 2013 he seemingly moved away from film to focus on television. He was a main cast member in the USA Network drama “Graceland”,which ran from 2013 to 2015. His performance on the show actually earned him a Golden Maple Award for Best Actor in a TV series. Most recently, he’s had prominent roles in “Ransom” and “UnREAL”.

#6: Robert Hoffman

Also in:

Robert Pattinson Is Batman

Is Viola’s ex-boyfriend Justin cute? ABSOLUTELY. But unfortunately, he’s also petty, sexist, and an all-around jerk. Justin is the sort of character you love to hate, and for that alone Robert Hoffman’s performance should be commended! The film didn’t give the actor much of an opportunity to show off his varied skillset, but he’s also a professional dancer and choreographer. Hoffman played a major role in the 2008 sequel, “Step Up 2: The Streets” but hasn’t done much acting since 2016. He remains active on YouTube and social media however, and in 2020, he resurfaced in the music video “Aag Ka Gola L.A”, in which he plays a street performer.

#5: James Kirk

Not to be confused with Captain James T. Kirk, the character played by William Shatner, James Kirk was the actor who portrayed Viola’s twin Sebastian Hastings. Before “She’s the Man”, Kirk appeared in “Final Destination 2” and “X2: X-Men United”. Since then however, he’s mostly appeared on TV, including made-for-tv movies such as “Family for Christmas” and “Love on the Sidelines”. Though his television work has largely been a string of single episode appearances, he did pop up in “Supernatural” and played a supporting role in the 2017 series, “Somewhere Between” starring Paula Patton and Devon Sawa. He’s also done a ton of voice acting.

#4: Alexandra Breckenridge

Trying to pass as your twin brother is tough enough as is. But add his ex-girlfriend into the mix? Now you’ve got a recipe for disaster - or a great teen romcom! Following her role as the superficial and rather mean-spirited Monique Valentine, Alexandra Breckenridge has largely moved from one noteworthy TV series to the next. Shortly after “She’s the Man”, Breckenridge landed a role opposite Courtney Cox in the FX series, “Dirt”, which ran for 2 seasons. She then went on to have a recurring role in “American Horror Story”, “The Walking Dead” and “This Is Us”. Most recently, she’s been playing the lead role in the Netflix series, “Virgin River”.

#3: Laura Ramsey

In “She’s the Man” this Wisconsin-born actress played Olivia Lennox, the girl who falls in love with Viola while she’s in the guise of her brother Sebastian. It’s all rather messy but hey, what good teen rom com inspired by the works of Willaim Shakespeare isn’t? After her likable turn in “She’s the Man”, Ramsey appeared in a number of smaller films and horror flicks, including the underrated 2008 adaptation of “The Ruins”. She also made a memorable single episode appearance as a character named Joy in “Mad Men”. Ramsey also played the leading role of Becca Brady in the VH1 series “Hindsight”, which received positive reviews but was unfortunately cancelled after one season in 2015.

#2: Channing Tatum

More so than any other actor to appear in “She’s the Man” Channing Tatum has gone to experience an incredible level of success in the film industry. Action films? No problem. Comedy? He’s your guy? Gritty dramas? Done! Since playing Duke in the 2006 film, this talented heartthrob has well and truly secured himself a spot on the A-list. His filmography is lengthy, but highlights include “21 Jump Street” and its sequel, “Magic Mike”, “Foxcatcher” and “Logan Lucky”. He’s also lent his voice to a number of animated films, including “The Lego Movie” and “Smallfoot”.

#1: Amanda Bynes

Top 10 Greatest Amanda Bynes Movies

When it comes to pressure and public scrutiny, child stars have it especially tough. After “She’s the Man”, Amanda Bynes only starred in another three films before walking away from acting. She actually dropped out of two films in 2009 and 2010, kicking off a long and often public battle with substance abuse and mental health issues. In the late 2010s, Bynes seemed like she was poised for a comeback, but the pressure surrounding her appearance on the cover of Paper magazine reportedly resulted in a backslide. Much about her current life remains a mystery, but she’s seemingly found love, even if her social media presence points to ongoing struggles.
