Travel Guide: Hawaii

Travel Guide: Hawaii
VOICE OVER: Rebecca Brayton
Annexed by the United States in 1959, today Hawaii is the only state to be comprised entirely of islands. This state is popular with tourists because of its unique natural elements, which include a number of volcanoes and some of the world's best surfing waves. And with its tropical climate, surfing, exploring and other outdoor activities are possible throughout the year. Drawing from its history, the culture of Hawaii is noticeably inspired by Polynesian influences. The dance, the hula, is a result of this and has been an iconic representation of the state for years. In this video, http://www.WatchMojo.com continues our travel series with a look at the American state of Hawaii.

An Island State

Located in the Pacific Ocean, Hawaii is the newest of the United States. Also the only state comprised entirely of islands, Hawaii was annexed by the U.S. in 1959. Approximately 1.3 million people call Hawaii home. The state’s capital and largest city is Honolulu, which is found on the island of Oahu.

A Surfer's Paradise

Hawaii is a very popular destination for tourists because of its unparalleled natural beauty, and perfect tropical weather. A haven for surfers, some of the world’s best waves happen off the shores of this island state.

Tropical Climate
