Travel Guide: Kauai, Hawaii

Travel Guide: Kauai, Hawaii
VOICE OVER: Rebecca Brayton
Hawaii is a state comprised entirely of islands, and it features eight main islands. The fourth largest of these landmasses is Kauai. Nicknamed the Garden Isle, the beauty of Kauai is unrivaled. One impressive example of the island's landscape is the Wailua River, a popular location for boating and kayaking. Cascading into the river are the Wailua Falls; two streams that fall approximately 80 feet to meet the water's surface. The Grand Canyon of the Pacific is also found on Kauai. Waimea Canyon offers a lookout spot to take in the island's splendid views. In this video, http://www.WatchMojo.com profiles the Hawaiian island of Kauai.

The Garden Isle

The state of Hawaii is comprised entirely of islands. The oldest of the eight main islands is Kauai. As with many of Hawaii’s islands, Kauai is the result of volcanic activity. Today it is nicknamed the Garden Isle because of its unsurpassed natural beauty and endless vistas.

The Wailua River and Falls

The Wailua River and waterfall are one example of Kauai’s impressive landscape. The Wailua River is one of the most popular in Hawaii for boating and kayaking. The Wailua Falls are a cascade of two streams falling roughly 80 feet into the river.

Waimea Canyon

Waimea Canyon is located on this island, and is called The Grand Canyon of the Pacific. Found on the island’s west side, this geological marvel boasts a lookout that offers splendid views of gorges, crags and valleys.

The Napali Coast

Found on Kauai’s North Shore is the Napali Coast, a location that highlights the majestic coastline of the area. This section of coast is only accessible on land by Kalalau Trail, which can prove to be a challenging hike for many. Boat tours and air access is available for non-hikers who wish to take in the breathtaking vistas.
