Due to circumstances out of his control, Naruto grew up in a society that did not accept him. Despite being pushed down and ignored, Naruto never stopped striving to become someone the Hidden Leaf Village could trust. Many dismissed his goals, including Tsunade, who had lost faith in the idea of chasing dreams. When the young shinobi managed to execute the difficult Rasengan technique to send Kabuto flying, Naruto took a massive step in changing his reputation and inspired Tsunade to dream again. It’s also just an awesome moment.

#9: Team 7’s Reunion

Top 10 Naruto and Sasuke Team-Up Fights

Although Team 7's members are together for a sizable chunk of the original anime, things get a touch more complicated when Sasuke decides to join Orochimaru. After plenty of heartbreak and multiple fights that could have turned fatal, Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura finally reunite in a tense battle against the Ten-Tails. A moment years in the making for both the characters and audience, Shippuden makes sure this reunion feels significant. While Sasuke’s return takes center stage, this sequence also highlights Sakura's growth. Together, all three are an absolute unit.

#8: Naruto & Gaara Shake Hands

Top 20 Iconic Naruto Moments

Forced to act as human sacrifices to seal the tailed beasts, Gaara and Naruto's childhoods were defined by loneliness and alienation, both feared by those who should have protected them. While Naruto strived to prove everyone wrong and become a hero, Gaara's despair led to him embracing his reputation as a living weapon. By defeating the sand-user, Naruto inspired his fellow Jinchuriki to take on a different mindset. This handshake serves as a testament to Naruto's positive influence and Gaara's personal growth, as the characters complete their transition from enemies to friends.

#7: Itachi's Final Farewell

The eldest Uchiha was introduced as a heartless monster responsible for the massacre of his clan...but ended up being the best person ever! While the idea that Itachi had coldly slaughtered his parents to test his power had long since been proven false, it is not until the character's final goodbye that Sasuke learns the full truth behind his brother's actions. This is all concluded with a heart-warming goodbye between siblings as Itachi reaffirms that he will always love his younger brother no matter what.

#6: Naruto Graduates

Top 10 TERRIFYING Moments In Naruto

Now, this is the way to launch a shounen. "Naruto's" opening episode does a brilliant job establishing the young ninja's struggles and goals. As a social outcast desperate to be recognized, Naruto is instantly likable, even if he’s an outspoken prankster willing to do whatever it takes to challenge his notoriety. We not only get to see him use the Shadow Clone Jutsu for the first time, but earn the admiration and respect of his sensei, gaining the rank of Genin in the process.
This moment marks the first time of many when Naruto would refuse to give up regardless of what anyone else has to say about it!

#5: Team 10’s Vengeance

Also in:

Top 10 Team Rocket Battles in Pokemon

Revenge is a dish best served with a side of explosive tags. Death is just par for the course with a ninja, but Hidan relishes the opportunity to kill like few others. After seeing Asuma fall at the hands of the detestable Akatsuki member, Team 10 desperately sought to avenge their fallen leader and cut down the Akatsuki member in the process. Shikamaru ends up turning the villain's jutsu against him, before flinging a trap that makes Hidan's immortality seem more like a curse than a blessing, forever trapping him in a hell of his own making.

#4: Naruto & Kurama Join Forces

Also in:

Top 10 Funniest Naruto Moments Ever

Thrust upon each other against their will, Naruto and the Nine-Tails take a very long time to grow comfortable with their shared existence. While Naruto would occasionally use Kurama's chakra, the tailed beast saw this as a means to one day snatch the body for himself. For the longest time, this was a relationship defined by distrust, but things began to change once Kurama and Naruto had their big blowout fight. Naruto's honesty and noble ambitions cause Kurama to rethink his hatred for humans, a development sealed with a fist bump.

#3: Naruto & Hinata Kiss

Also in:

Top 10 Most Brutal Naruto Moments

Similar to how Naruto had a crush on Sakura, the blonde ninja caught the eye of Hinata, although the shy girl kept those emotions under wraps for the longest time. While the series dropped hints about a potential future for the couple, 2014's “The Last: Naruto The Movie” heavily revolved around exploring this romance and eventually seeing it bloom. Even if Naruto's declaration of love is a bit rushed, the sequence leading up their kiss is fantastic. The visuals, music, flashbacks, and pacing all come together to produce a breathtaking moment that sells Hinata and Naruto as soulmates.

#2: Naruto Gets a Hero's Welcome

Also in:

Top 10 Naruto Moments That Will Make You Cry

Naruto's wish to become Hokage had nothing to do with power, but everything to do with respect. Since he was an orphan shunned by the community, Naruto aspired to become someone people could believe in. This desire fueled every one of his actions and allowed him to push past his limits in battles against far more powerful foes. This drive inspired Gaara's redemption, Tsunade's renewed belief, and Pain’s willingness to give peace another chance. The moment when the Hidden Leaf Village's residents greet Naruto as a hero represents his oldest character arc coming to an end, all in a wholly fulfilling manner.

#1: Naruto Returns Sasuke's Forehead Protector

Also in:

Every Sasuke Fight Ranked Naruto

After splitting up in the latter half of the original anime, Team 7's original members take a long time to heal their wounds. While they reunite towards the end of the Fourth Great Shinobi War, Sasuke and Naruto do not truly make amends until their final fight in the Valley of the End. It takes losing an arm and nearly dying for the billionth time for Sasuke, at long last, to accept Naruto's friendship. As the final satisfying exclamation mark to a relationship that produced so many great moments, Naruto returns the headband Sasuke abandoned when he left the Hidden Leaf.
