Top 5 Things We Need to See in Riverdale Season 2

Top 5 Things We Need to See in Riverdale Season 2
VOICE OVER: Emily Brayton
Script written by Jason C. Mclean

Riverdale's season finale ended with a big bang. We were all shocked and were left with tons of unanswered questions. Here are the Top 5 Things we need to see in Riverdale Season 2! We definitely need to see more Josie. Sure, we got to meet Josie's supportive albeit corruptible mayor mother Sierra and her extremely hard to please touring musician father Myles, but the show only explored their family dynamic briefly. We also need to know the future of Betty and Jughead's relationship. When Jughead put on that South Side Serpents jacket in the finale, the look on her face clearly indicated that their love may not withstand his newfound family. We need to find out more about Betty's secret older brother and who the heck shot Fred Andrews!

#5: More Josie

We met Josie McCoy and her Pussycats in the first episode and it looked like they would be a big part of the show, but unfortunately, we didn’t get nearly enough of them. Sure, we got to meet Josie’s supportive albeit corruptible mayor mother Sierra and her extremely hard to please touring musician father Myles, but the show only explored their family dynamic briefly. We also got to see the Pussycats perform a few times, but we got to see Archie play music about as much and Valerie Brown was the only Pussycat to be involved in a main plot when she briefly dated Archie. We need more in season two!

#4: The Future of Betty & Jughead's Relationship

They're the couple from opposite sides of the proverbial tracks that we were rooting for all season long. Could Betty and Jughead's relationship withstand decades-long squabbles between their families, not to mention his father being arrested and her parents' constant drama? Yes, it could. Betty was even able to overcome her previous crush on his best friend, Archie. But when he put on that South Side Serpents jacket in the finale, the look on her face clearly indicated that their love may not withstand his newfound family.

#3: Betty's Secret Older Brother

Hiding the truth can be downright impossible when Betty Cooper is around. In season one, she turned herself into an investigative reporter, exposing some members of the football team’s secret playbook and eventually solving the Jason Blossom murder with help from her friends. She was at her most relentless, though, when trying to uncover her own family's secrets. She managed to learn the true nature of their relationship to the Blossoms and track down her sister. Now that she knows she has an older brother, we can't wait for Betty to put those Nancy Drew skills to the test once again and find him as well.

#2: Veronica's Crooked Dad: Hiram Lodge

The most important character never to appear on screen in season one was Veronica Lodge's imprisoned father Hiram. Already a key manipulator of events in Riverdale from inside his New York jail cell, Hiram has now been released and is heading to town. We know that he will be played by Mark Consuelos, so we are excited to see what devious schemes Hiram will be up to and what impact they will have on Riverdale. We also want to see if his wife Hermoine goes along with his plans and whether or not Veronica will try to stop her Dad.

#1: Who Shot Fred Andrews

Season One was dominated by the mystery of who killed Jason Blossom, which was resolved in the second to last episode. We didn't have to wait long to find out what the next mystery will be, when Fred Andrews gets shot by a masked assailant. While Hiram Lodge and the Serpents may top the suspect pool given Fred’s refusal to sell his business, in Riverdale, nothing is as it seems. We don’t even know if Fred will survive. If he doesn’t, we wonder what impact this will have on his son. Are we in for a dark Archie?
